One of the biggest pros of owning a small business is watching your customers become family. ❤️
The con? Having to say goodbye when one of those customers passes away.
Last night, we learned of the passing of Larry Christenson, and our hearts are heavy. For those who had the pleasure of meeting or chatting with Larry while he was in the shop, you’d agree that he was one of the most caring, friendly, down-to-earth, genuine people you could ever meet. He always had a story, a smile, and somehow managed to make us laugh every time he came through the door.
We’ll deeply miss seeing Larry at the butcher shop, but we are so grateful that we had the opportunity to get to know him and to have the friendship he shared with our shop. ❤️
One memory that will always make us smile happened while a local, youth baseball team was holding a fundraiser out front of the store.
“Who is that man right there? He just handed us $300!”
“That’s Larry Christenson. He was a pitcher for the Phillies.”
That was Larry. Quietly generous and genuinely kind.
We were lucky to have him as a customer, but even luckier to have gotten to know the man behind the name.
Larry will be deeply missed around the butcher shop. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone lucky enough to have known him.
Heaven gained a good one. ❤️⚾️
