Bare feet in the grass, sticky fingers from sweet treats, smiles all around. Watching a child meet a lamb for the first time. Sitting under the trees with good food and good people. Feeling, even just for a moment, connected to something slower, more grounded, more real.

It wasn’t just an event. It was a reflection of what we believe a farm should be.

A place where families can gather.
Where kids can learn without even realizing it.
Where food, animals, and land are experienced up close—not just talked about.

Spring Lamb Day 2026 was the essence of Walnut Valley Farms—simple, intentional, and full of life.

And if you were there, you know… it wasn’t just beautiful.
It was meaningful.

The power plant growing at your feet!👣

Keep reading for pro tip you need to know!

I prepped these ahead and had them in the fridge so they’ve seen better days. BUT…

🌿 Found under oak trees, along fence lines, and in shady areas
🌿 This “sticky” plant is called Cleavers (aka goosegrass)

Why I’m juicing it right now 👇

✨ Supports lymphatic drainage
→ helps your body move out stagnation + puffiness

✨ Gentle detox support
→ especially helpful in spring when everything is waking up

✨ May reduce bloating + fluid retention
→ think less “puffy” feeling

✨ Supports skin clarity
→ inside-out support when your system is overloaded

✨ Cooling + soothing to the body
→ great during times of inflammation or stress

How I use it:
🥤 Fresh juice or blended into water/smoothies
🌿 Best when young + vibrant (before it gets too tough)

Pro tip: STRAIN BEFORE DRINKING but I like the leave the whole plant in contact with the juice to infuse as long as possible.

Ever tried counting sheep… and they won’t stand still? 😅🐑

We’ve got 44 lambs on the farm right now…
👉 22 boys
👉 22 girls

And not a single one interested in helping you fall asleep 😂

Instead, they’re out here living their best life—running, jumping, and showing off those full-on spring zoomies.

This is exactly what you’ll experience at Lamb Day—real farm life, fresh air, happy animals, and space for your kids to just be kids.

Come meet the flock (and try counting them yourself 😉)

Sunset in my eyes and medicine at my feet.

Found some wood sorrel (Oxalis)-you can tell by the little clover-like heart-shaped leaves and those delicate pinkish-purple buds. It’s super common in pastures and gardens and actually has some really cool qualities:

• 🌿 Edible (in small amounts) – has a bright, lemony flavor
• 💧 Traditionally used to cool inflammation and support digestion
• 🌸 Entire plant can be used (leaves, stems, flowers)

Beautiful on a salad, eggs, stir fry or just to munch on doing evening chores ❤️

🌿 A “weed” you’ll want to leave…

If it’s growing right now, maybe we need it?

Most people see plantain and think nuisance.
I see one of the most useful plants growing right under our feet.

Out here on the farm, plantain shows up everywhere—along the garden beds, in the pasture, even in the driveway where nothing else wants to grow. And that alone tells you something… it’s resilient, grounding, and here for a reason.

✨ Every part of plantain is useful:

🌱 Leaves
– Fresh: chew or crush and apply to bug bites, stings, cuts, or splinters (nature’s drawing salve)
– Tea: supports digestion, soothes inflammation, and can help calm irritated gut lining
– Poultice: amazing for skin healing

🌾 Seeds
– High in soluble fiber (similar to psyllium)
– Supports gentle detox + gut movement
– Helps bind and move things out of the body

🌿 Roots
– Less talked about, but traditionally used for urinary and respiratory support

There’s something really grounding about stepping outside and realizing…
you don’t have to run to the store for every little thing.

God literally planted medicine in the dirt.

And the more I learn, the more I see—
our ancestors weren’t guessing. They were paying attention.

Out here, foraging isn’t trendy… it’s just part of life.
It’s slowing down enough to notice what’s growing, what season you’re in, and what your body might need.

Food. Medicine. Land.
It’s all connected.

And honestly… it makes me feel a little more rooted every time I reach down and pick a “weed” on purpose 🤍

If you’ve got plantain growing in your yard, you’re already sitting on a powerful little first aid kit.

POV: Your Farm Animals Know You’re Home

Apparently “free-range” also includes the front porch.

These turkeys didn’t text.
Didn’t knock.

They just stood there like:
We know you’re inside.
