🌿 A “weed” you’ll want to leave…
If it’s growing right now, maybe we need it?
Most people see plantain and think nuisance.
I see one of the most useful plants growing right under our feet.
Out here on the farm, plantain shows up everywhere—along the garden beds, in the pasture, even in the driveway where nothing else wants to grow. And that alone tells you something… it’s resilient, grounding, and here for a reason.
✨ Every part of plantain is useful:
🌱 Leaves
– Fresh: chew or crush and apply to bug bites, stings, cuts, or splinters (nature’s drawing salve)
– Tea: supports digestion, soothes inflammation, and can help calm irritated gut lining
– Poultice: amazing for skin healing
🌾 Seeds
– High in soluble fiber (similar to psyllium)
– Supports gentle detox + gut movement
– Helps bind and move things out of the body
🌿 Roots
– Less talked about, but traditionally used for urinary and respiratory support

There’s something really grounding about stepping outside and realizing…
you don’t have to run to the store for every little thing.
God literally planted medicine in the dirt.
And the more I learn, the more I see—
our ancestors weren’t guessing. They were paying attention.
Out here, foraging isn’t trendy… it’s just part of life.
It’s slowing down enough to notice what’s growing, what season you’re in, and what your body might need.
Food. Medicine. Land.
It’s all connected.
And honestly… it makes me feel a little more rooted every time I reach down and pick a “weed” on purpose 🤍

If you’ve got plantain growing in your yard, you’re already sitting on a powerful little first aid kit.
