🥎 BOTH of our Logan County teams are STILL UNDEFEATED in the WVSSAC Softball State Tournament so far! WOW! 👏

TONIGHT, the Lady Wildcats and the Lady Hillbillies are playing another game at 9 PM for their chance to move on to Championship Friday!

WVOW is cheering LOUD for these girls! If only you could hear and see the excitement behind the scenes at the station while we’re broadcasting these games. We think these teams are absolutely incredible. 💪❤️

🥎THE FRESHMAN PHENOM PULLS IT OFF! Man Freshman Pitcher Mia Johnson was SENSATIONAL in her State Tournament Debut!🔥

Going the distance for 7 innings + a rain delay for 9 Ks & only 2 earned runs against Ritchie County!

At the plate she was 2/3 for 2 huge RBIs and a triple to help lift her team to a 5-2 W! 🎉

The buses are loaded, the bags packed tight,
’Twas the eve before States on a warm spring night.
The gloves have been laced and the cleats by the door,
With dreams of a title and so much in store.
The players lay restless, no sleep in their heads,
While visions of trophies danced bright in their beds.
The crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd,
Their hometown behind them, so faithful and loud.
The seniors remembered the years that had passed,
The practices, heartbreaks, the moments that last.
The dirt on their jerseys, the tears and the cheers,
All leading them here after all of these years.
The pitchers spun rise balls beneath stadium light,
The catchers called games in the heat of the fight.
The outfield stood ready, the infield stayed true,
Each girl beside sisters in red, white, and blue.
And coaches spoke softly, “Just play like you can.
Believe in each other, believe in this plan.
Leave fear in the dugout, leave doubt on the bench,
And battle each inning, each hit, every inch.”
Then quiet fell gently across every room,
No thoughts now of pressure, no worry of doom.
Just hearts full of purpose and fire burning bright,
For tomorrow was States… and this was their night.
So swing for the fences and dive for each ball,
Play hard for your teammates and answer the call.
And whether gold medals or tears come in sight,
You’ve already made history… now go win the fight.
