❤️ To Our Puerto Rico Café Family ❤️

Over the years, your support, friendship, and loyalty have meant the world to our family. Today, we come to you with a humble request for patience, understanding, and prayers.

Due to an unexpected family situation, we are currently caring for a beloved family member in our home who is receiving hospice care. During this difficult and important season, much of our time and attention will be devoted to ensuring our loved one is comfortable, cared for, and surrounded by family and love.

As many of you know, Puerto Rico Café has always been a labor of love, operated on weekends while balancing our full-time careers and family responsibilities. Because of these new circumstances, there may be times when we are unable to open or may need to adjust our hours with little notice. Please know that we will do our very best to continue serving our community whenever possible.

We kindly ask for your patience, understanding, and prayers as we navigate this chapter together as a family.

We also recognize that difficult moments often bring out the very best in people. If anyone within our community has an interest in helping us keep Puerto Rico Café operating while we care for our loved one, we would love to hear from you. Whether you have experience in the restaurant industry, food service, customer service, or simply a willingness to help, we are committed to making it a rewarding opportunity for those willing to lend a hand.

Additionally, if anyone feels called to help our family directly as we care for our loved one, we would be deeply grateful. Whether it's spending a few hours sitting with her, helping with meals, running errands, assisting with caregiving tasks, sharing resources, or offering support in any capacity, every act of kindness would mean more than words can express during this time.

They say it takes a village, and right now our family could certainly use one. We have always tried to serve our community with love, and today we humbly ask for that same love, grace, and support in return.

🎓❤️ A Special Share From Our Family ❤️🎓
Today we're sharing the graduation video we made for our son, Jalen, that was shown at his graduation party on May 31st. For those who couldn't attend, including many of our family, friends, and our Puerto Rico Cafe family, we wanted to share this special moment with you. So many of you have watched Jalen grow up over the years, and you truly are part of our extended family. First, thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to celebrate with us. Your love and support meant more than you'll ever know. As for Jalen... what can we say? Trying to explain your life is like trying to explain a roller coaster that caught on fire while entering space during a tornado. Highs, lows, chaos, stress, laughter, confusion... and somehow, through it all, one incredible kid. You've kept us laughing for years. From drawing what looked like an alien when asked to draw yourself in daycare, to carrying around your Build-A-Bear birth certificate thinking it was your real one, to your absolutely HORRIBLE singing in the car (seriously, it sounded like a raccoon fighting for survival 😂). But behind all the funny memories is a young man who never gave up.
Life and school were not always easy, but you kept pushing forward. It was never that Jalen wasn't a good fit for school. Sometimes school wasn't a good fit for Jalen. You are intelligent. You are creative. You are resilient. You see the world differently, and one day others will see what we've always seen, an amazing young man with purpose, heart, humor, and endless potential. Life will challenge you. People will doubt you. Some doors will close. But never let that stop you. Get back up every time you fall. Work hard. Stay humble. Never forget where you came from. Never take life for granted. We are beyond proud of the young man you've become. We can't wait to see where your next journey takes you, and no matter what, we'll always be cheering you on from the sidelines. You made it, Papito. ❤️ Welcome to adulthood...Now your rent is due! 🤣 We love you endlessly and are so proud of you.🎓 Congratulations, Jalen! 🎓
