Cafe Kreyol

Cafe Kreyol We're a direct trade coffee roaster, that focuses on sustainability and transparency in the coffee supply chain.

While our primary focus is on Haiti, we use the same direct trade business model to source from a dozen of other origins. Cafe Kreyol’s flagship coffee, is our Haitian Blue. In 2012, we started working with less than 200 producers. To date we work with over 2,800 people in Haiti alone, and use the same direct trade business model to develop long term relationships in other origins such as Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Ethiopia, Brazil, and more.

🌿 Feature Friday: Organic Bolivia Selva Verde™ 🇧🇴

Great coffee starts with healthy ecosystems.

Our Bolivia Selva Verde™ is produced by members of the APCERL cooperative, where organic coffee farming and conservation go hand in hand. Through our partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society, producers use a regenerative agroforestry model that protects native forests while producing exceptional coffee.

The result is a versatile medium roast with a smooth, creamy body and rich chocolate notes. Whether brewed as espresso, filter coffee, or cold brew, Selva Verde delivers a consistently balanced cup.

Since 2018, we've proudly partnered with these producers to support sustainable farming practices and coffee quality that benefits both people and the environment.

One of the most critical stages in preserving coffee quality happens after harvest: drying.

Many of the producers we work with use raised drying beds, allowing air to circulate above and below the coffee. This promotes more even drying, helps reduce moisture-related defects and over-fermentation, and supports cleaner, sweeter cup profiles.

Quality isn't created in a single moment—it's built through careful decisions at every stage of the process.

When most people think about coffee quality, they think about roasting. For us, quality begins much earlier.

It starts with harvest timing. Cherry selection. Post-harvest processing. Drying. Storage. Sensory evaluation. Producer education. And long-term relationships built over years—not harvests.

Quality isn't a single checkpoint. It's a process that begins at origin and continues through roasting, production, and final delivery.

That's why we invest as much in supporting producers and quality at origin as we do in the roasting process itself. Every step matters, because every step influences the cup.

💙 Feature Friday: Organic Caribbean Blue® – Haitian Blue™ 🇭🇹

One of our longest-standing partnerships deserves a spot in the spotlight.

Since 2011, we've partnered with COOPACVOD, Haiti's oldest running coffee cooperative, working with more than 850 members to produce the country's only organic certified Arabica Blue Mountain coffee.

Our Organic Caribbean Blue® is the lightest roast in our Haitian Blue lineup, offering a smooth, low-acid cup with notes of almonds and butter and a creamy finish that's characteristic of island profile coffees.

It's a coffee we're proud to source—and one we're even prouder to share.

Consistency isn't something we hope for. It's something we verify.

Every production batch we roast is cupped and evaluated by our quality team before it reaches our customers.

While periodic quality checks are common, evaluating every production batch reflects our commitment to consistency, accountability, and continuous quality verification.

Every bag should reflect the same standards we expect from the coffees we source around the world.

🇭🇳 The New Honduras Is Here.

18 Rabbit is more than award-winning coffee. It’s what happens when great farming, post-harvest experimentation, and long-term partnership all point in the same direction.

For green buyers, that means microlots will shock you — backed by years of process refinement, data collection, and quality investment at origin. 📊

🍌 Feature Friday: Guava Banana 🇨🇴

Some coffees surprise you from the very first sip.

Our Guava Banana is fermented anaerobically—without the presence of oxygen—to develop an unforgettable cup bursting with notes of banana milkshake, guava, and cherry wine, balanced by a rich, creamy body.

Since 2019, we've partnered with Vergel Estate, where Marta Bayter and her sons, Shady and Elias, have helped transform not only their own farm but also more than 25 surrounding producers through innovative processing methods and access to specialty coffee markets.

Looking for an extra treat? Try our team's favorite "ChocoBanana" blend by mixing Guava Banana with our Bolivia Selva Verde for a chocolate-banana flavor combination.

Think 🇭🇳 Honduran coffee is a “value?” We say it’s the best coffee you’ll try this month.

We work with ONE family farm, 18 Rabbit, to produce isolated, traceable microlots that will blow your mind.

We’ve invested in our own cupping lab in Marcala, in addition to the export lab in Comayagua. No one is testing Honduran coffee as rigorously as we are. 🔬

The result is quite simply the best Honduran coffee in the world. 📈
