Cafe Kreyol We're a direct trade coffee roaster, that focuses on sustainability and transparency in the coffee supply chain. While our primary focus is on Haiti, we use the same direct trade business model to source from a dozen of other origins.

This yellow honey processed Geisha was quickly washed in order to leave minimal mucilage on during its fermentation. For 30 minutes of the fermentation, mandarin peel was added to the coffee to bring out its fruit forward flavors.

Last month, we did a tasting of different cold brew combinations so we could dial in a specific flavor profile to fit with the new release. We have taken the winey fruit notes from our Aged Natural Ramirez Estate Dominican along with the rich chocolate notes from our 18 Rabbit Honduran and roasted them specifically to complement each other. This blend is part of our competition series and is super fruit forward with notes of chocolate, cherry, and wine.

Own-A-Tree Project

There are dreams being nursed into existence at this very moment. The Own-A-Tree project offers you the opportunity to purchase a coffee tree for a farmer in Haiti–for the average price of a cup of coffee.

After your purchase, the tree will be planted from an organic coffee seed at our high elevation nursery, grown and cared for until it is ready to produce coffee fruit, and then given at cost to a farmer in need.

Each Arabica Blue Mountain tree will produce about 3 times as much coffee fruit as the variety the farmers previously used and each plant takes only 4-5 years to start producing enough to be profitable. Keep in mind that when you purchase a tree for the Own-A-Tree Project, you’re creating a sustainable solution that could last generations.

Sumatra is one of our two dark roasts. We get Sumatra from Cafe Kreyol and they source this coffee from 350 smallholder farmers. A lot of care goes into these beans and the land around the farms to get them into your hands. You can purchase this through our website or by stopping into Sugarfuse to buy a bag or a cup.

Cafe Kreyol is kind enough to share with us the process of many of their beans. Our brazil coffee goes through a meticulous process before ending up in our hands.
