Hope everyone stays safe this weekend through the storms!

We had this broody momma hatch two babies out just before this weather shift 😅 I got home last night and moved them into a cage temporarily so the babies wouldn't drown in the rain (she was broody nesting in the run🤦🙄)

Upon checking them today, the babies were able to squeeze through the squares of the cage & had momma freaking out! Thankfully we had some spare pieces of wire mesh sitting around that we were able to use around the cage to keep them secure & safe in the coop with momma 🥰

(Before anyone reads us for having mini pellet feed in their dish, we do have chick starter crumble on hand, just didn't have any over there since we don't usually have babies where these are & typically would have made their feed into mash, but with everything being a soggy mess currently, the flocks are getting dry feed today. We'll be taking a container with chick feed over for them later today! We all know how it goes when we have to solve a potential problem in a pinch 😉)

Happy Friday everyone! 😊

We're giving this Picatta Pork Loin Roast a shot 😉 We are big fans of Chicken Picatta, but had this massive pork loin that we cut half into chops & wanted to do something in the crockpot with the other half. Marinated in seasoning & lemon juice overnight & we are hoping this turns out as tasty as our cravings are expecting 🤤

Had this old gate just sitting around that had been in one of the barns or sheds when we moved here & it worked perfectly for the end of the Dynamite's run! We got a start on the wire for over the top, but as you can see we are working in the direct sun & needed to take a break 🥵😅 Hoping to get this finished up once it cools down later & finally let these guys in their much needed extra space 😎

Good afternoon & happy Wednesday!

A little off the farm topic today, but just wanted to give a friendly reminder as a courier that our days are getting shorter & unfortunately that doesn't change our work schedules for delivering. Please turn on your porch lights if you are expecting deliveries & don't be caught off guard when many of us walk to your door with a headlamp! Soon it's going to be getting dark by 4pm & anything to help us be able to see so we aren't tripping on steps, garden hoses, etc is greatly appreciated!
