Our hearts are heavy today as we had to say goodbye yesterday to my main show horse, Sport. There are no words to express the bonds we all had with him, but we are thankful that we were all here with him yesterday for his final hours & we have a memorial spot picked out, some apple trees, & flowers to color coordinate with the championship ribbon colors.

We got Sport when he was 3 years old, he was a World Grand Champion Weanling Model before he joined our family, him & I were the Juvenile Lite Shod Champions in our show circuit in Pennsylvania, we did flag ceremonies, breed demonstrations, I could throw my friends who never rode a horse on him & he would always be so careful and take the tiniest steps - he never wanted to hurt a soul. He was our rock to lean on for the past 26 years and the barn is going to feel completely different without him.

Along with heartache sometimes comes some light - during our stress yesterday we also had a bunch of babies hatch! There are Cochins, Old English, D'Uccles, a few Bantam Easter Eggers, mixes & a few Polish. They will be ready to go to new brooders on Wednesday.

Never had issues with cucumbers before, in fact if you've followed our journey the past few years you may have noticed our cucumber plants usually get quite massive, climbing the fence & even onto one of the chicken runs. They fizzled out on us this year, but our peppers & yellow squash are certainly happy! Tomatoes are going pretty steady for us as well 🙂💚
