I don't think they were like this for too long. They were just casually standing there, like "now what?" No crying, just confused 😒.

Cue late-night fencing repair with WAY too many helpers.

Yes, the gate is not installed with opposing hinges. Now it's tied down with fencing over the holes.

Milkers! We brought out our small group of milkers and had a great time showing against some stiff competition. I'm so excited to watch these Aerosmith daughters continue to grow! My two 2YOFF are both still tall and lanky - they may resemble baby giraffes 🦒 a bit - but the are starting to put themselves together more. I absolutely love the udders I'm getting on these girls, too!

Everyone managed to place at least 4th, the FF alternating as one filled well day one, and the other on day two. Both received effusive complements on the quality of their mammary systems, and noting their lack of overall maturity.

Gladys earned a second day 2, and Amilyn a first place in the senior doe class day one (didn't get a good fill on day 2).

All in all, it was a nice show for our young herd!

Penny is such a beautiful yearling, though quite immature as most of my young Aerosmith daughters are. She looks like she's going to grow quite a bit yet and is entering the "tall-girl" phase that my 2YO does are just beginning to grow out of. Love the looks of her so far! Naturally high-headed and elegant ✨️ 😍

Maggie is our lone recorded grade junior doe. We really like her but she's a SHY one. I sent her in the ring on day two with my niece and her pocket filled with treats! Rebecca fed her treats throughout her class, and it helped her a lot, and she placed much higher on day 2 (4th?). Still some work to do to get her to relax - I see another treat-filled class in her future 🙃. You can see in the picture that she tucking her tail and rump while trying to hide in the front, too. She'll look better with more confidence!

We went to a show a couple of weeks ago, hoping to get some experience with our young does, and have a little fun 🙂.

This is Hay Meadow Farm Rosa Parks Blvd.

We brought Rosa along, knowing she'd be sweet and easy to handle - but also knowing she'd likely place on the middle of the pack - of what was bound to be large, competitive classes (which she did). If Rosa inherits her dam's udder, she'll be one to watch in the future.

Rosa has a wonderful, sweet baby doll personality, and she had so much fun 😆😆. Our neighbor at our pens said that she stuck her head through the gate and watched them sleep all night (on a cot in the space between pens). Probably her dream come true, but knowing Rosa, she was waiting for an invitation to share the bed 🙃

I'm sure everyone is aware it's HOT 🔥. We're having heat indexes in the one-teens even here in Michigan! The milkers are going through 15-20 gallons of BlueLite a day, and are loving the new big yellow fan! (Especially the big white dog 🥺)
