The lavender beside the Hipcamp Lavender Wagon had me holding my breath this winter.

But look at her now.

Greening up, spiking out, and honestly just getting started.

This plant will probably double in size before bloom. She is going to be something extra special this season, just in time for the Peak Bloom Photo Sessions and other events we will be announcing soon.

Some things are better held in your hands.

These three have quietly become some of the most reached-for things on our farm, and in a lot of your lives too.

I spray the lavender rose hydrosol on my face every morning and after I shower On long farm days when I'm sweaty and a little grimy, the lavender hydrosol is what keeps my skin from breaking out. And every night before my castor oil pack, the magnesium oil goes on my legs and feet without fail.

But my favorite thing?

The women who come up to me at the market and say they can't go without these anymore.

Or the customer whose husband had been dealing with leg cramps for so long he'd just accepted it as his life, until she started spraying magnesium oil on his legs at night. He asked her what kind of magic she was using.

We hear this one a lot. And honestly we take it as the highest compliment we could ever receive.

This farm is 50 acres of Southwest Colorado canyon land, lavender fields, mountain views, and the kind of quiet that is genuinely hard to find anymore. People come for a night on the way to Mesa Verde and end up wishing they had stayed longer.

The lavender wagon is available to book now. Homemade breakfast included every morning. Wood fired sauna available as an add on at golden hour.

From $85 a night. reply "HIPCAMP" - I'll send you the link and add on the sauna at checkout!

There is a moment at the end of a long day on this farm when the canyon turns gold and everything just gets quiet.

This is the view from the wood fired sauna. Yes, really.

We have a handcrafted lavender wagon tucked into the fields where you can come stay the night, wake up to a homemade breakfast, wander the farm at your own pace, and if you want to make it truly unforgettable, add on a wood fired sauna session at golden hour overlooking the canyon and Mesa Verde in the distance.

People come here thinking they're stopping for a night on the way to the national park. They leave saying it was the best part of the trip.

From $85 a night. Reply "HIPCAMP" and I'll send you the link and add on the sauna when you checkout!

Calm is not something that just happens. It is something we choose, over and over again, especially when life is full.

Right now we have so many projects in motion on the farm, and we are also in the middle of IVF after a six year fertility journey. It has been difficult and beautiful and a lot, all at once. We do not always get it right. But I have found that there are a few non-negotiable rituals that bring me back to my body and my breath when things feel like too much.

A cup of lavender tea in the morning. Three deep breaths over the steam before the day takes over. Our lavender magnesium oil spray on my feet every evening before bed, tucked into whatever corner of the mattress Chaco has generously left for me. And this, stepping outside and really looking. Even when I am rushing to water lavender starts or chasing down an irrigation leak, I make it a point to pause, breathe, and notice the growth happening all around me in real time.

We built MVL because we know what it is like to have a lot on your plate. We know what it feels like to need a moment of calm in the middle of the chaos. These products are not just what we make. They are what we reach for ourselves, every single day.

Calm is a decision. We are grateful to make it alongside you.

Happy National Donut Day to the most beautiful donut we've ever seen. 🍩

This is a Sourdough Honey Lavender Donut made by our friends at in Dolores, Colorado and it's definitely one of our favorite treats around here.

What Crave is doing is exactly the kind of thing we love to see.

Small batch, made from scratch, naturally leavened sourdough bread and pastries with locally sourced ingredients that actually tell a story about where they come from. They care deeply about the land and the farmers behind the food and it shows in every single thing they make.

The fact that they used our lavender and local honey in this donut makes it even sweeter. Literally.

If you're in the Four Corners area and haven't found Crave yet, go find them. And if you want to make your own lavender honey moment at home, our dried lavender and honey are both available on our website!

Most people think oils are what hydrate their skin. They're not. That's actually water's job.

Oils and balms are incredible, but they work by sealing moisture in, not putting it back. If you're applying them to dry skin, you're just locking in the dryness.

The missing step most people skip? A hydrosol. Mist it on first, let it absorb, then layer your oil or balm on top. That's when your skin actually drinks it up.

We love both our Lavender Hydrosol and our Lavender Rose, but the Lavender Rose is what I (Katie) reach for every single morning and evening on my face. It's the step I'd never skip, especially heading into the warmer months when your skin is losing moisture faster than you think.

Do you use our hydrosols in your skincare routine? We'd love to hear your experience with it!

Every garden in the Southwest should have lavender in it.

Here's why.

Lavender is one of the most water-wise medicinal herbs you can put in the ground in our region. Once established it thrives on very little, which matters a lot when water is becoming more and more of a conversation in Colorado. It asks almost nothing from you and gives back every single season.

But beyond that, it's the scent. There is something about walking past lavender in your own yard, brushing against it on the way to the door, cutting a fresh bundle for your kitchen, that just changes the quality of a summer day. It's hard to explain until you have it and then you can't imagine your garden without it.

We are bringing our 1 inch lavender starts to both the Telluride Farmers Market this Friday and the Durango Farmers Market this Saturday. These are the exact same varieties we grow in our own fields here on the farm, selected specifically for our region and climate. $8.50 each and they are ready to go straight into the ground.

We have Grosso for the big dramatic purple rows, Alba for beautiful white blooms, Royal Velvet and Buena Vista for culinary use, and Hidcote Blue if you want something compact and cold hardy.

You can also pre-order online at the link in bio and we'll bring your order to whichever market works for you. Pre-ordering gets you a little discount as a thank you.

Come find us this weekend. We'd love to help you figure out which variety belongs in your garden.

There are places that make you want to create and then there are places that make it impossible not to.

Our lavender fields during peak bloom are the second kind.

The scent alone is worth the drive. The light at those hours does something to color that you just have to see for yourself. And the feeling of setting up your easel in a field that is fully alive around you is something that gets into your work in ways you just cannot plan for.

This summer we are hosting our Plein Air Farm Festival across two weekends during peak bloom. Artists of all mediums and all levels are welcome. Whether you paint, sketch, watercolor, or draw, this is a setting that will show up in everything you make here.

Weekend One is June 26 to 28.
Weekend Two is July 3 to 5.

Art hours are 9am to 3pm daily. Limited to 15 artists per weekend so the experience stays intimate and the fields stay peaceful. The festival closes with the Final Artist Showcase at Millie's in downtown Mancos on July 5th. Your work, created in the fields, shown in the community.

Registration is open now. Comment "PLEINAIR" below and I'll send you the link to secure your spot. Bloom waits for no one and the next week we harvest it all!

This time of year, the farm becomes an oasis in the desert.

Our irrigation season is very short this year.

21 days of water. It will truly put our drought-resiliency plan to the test.

But right now, while the water is on, it is everything.

The pond is full, the frogs are croaking, and the pasture is the most vibrant green you’ve ever seen.

We grow a crop that will do okay even when water is scarce, and we’ve been saying since the beginning that we knew water was going to become more and more of a concern in Colorado.

This year we get to walk the walk.

In the middle of all of it, I have been dreaming up and planning so many magical details for this year’s Plein Air Farm Festival and I am genuinely delighted in how both weekends are shaping up.

If you’re an artist in this region, you won’t want to miss this.

Creating art while the lavender wafts through the fields, surrounded by a community of artists coming together and forming real friendships. That part might be the sweetest thing of all.

And if you’re not an artist, don’t worry. I’ll be announcing ways for everyone to come to the farm during those weekends very soon. Make sure you’re following us and on the email list so you don’t miss it.

This incredible photo is by the lovely Nathan Rist!
He will be offering sunset photo sessions on the farm during bloom this year!
