Independence Day Holiday Report: It's early harvest time on the farm! So far everything currently planted is doing well in the hoophouse. We opened the Forest Garden for painting this year. It's been a couple of years since we planted there and it was a labor of love for Mark to get it plantable. We have too many to count varieties of fruit and veggies doing well...in spite of the rabbits! We are also trying to keep some succession planting going throughout the Summer. God has been plentiful with the rains this year and it's much needed with our 100° temps. Between our incubator and broody hens, we hatched out 28 new Australorp chicks. We have a few new additions to the farm this year. Our pony, Tookie; her bestie donkey, Tizzie and our peachicks, Cupid & Venus. More pics coming of them later. It's been a perfect year for cukes for us and I am having no lack of product to replenish my pickle and relish stocks. The fails this Spring have been several losses to the 50 sappling variety of trees we planted last Fall and we had no blackberries or sand plums this year😩.
