🦬 Meet Sherman — Our Little “Tank”

We’d like to introduce Sherman, the newest bull at P2P Bison Ranch!

Sherman came to us from Flint Hills Bison Company, and this little guy is built like a tank. He brings some genetics we’re really excited about—his mother comes from Custer State Park genetics, while his father is a Castle Rock bull.

Sherman has also been genetically tested, showing no detectable cattle genetics and 100% Plains bison.

While he may be the little tank today, we’re looking forward to watching Sherman grow and mature. Our plan is to use him across both of our P2P herds over the next four years, adding his genetics to the next generations born here on the ranch.

We’re excited to see what the future holds for this guy. Welcome to P2P, Sherman! 🦬🌾

P2P Bison Ranch took home this stellar young bull from our ranch yesterday. Born from our first calf crop 2 years ago, he’s lived his entire life on our ranch and is going to an amazing home with similar ranching practices as us. He’s going to make an excellent breeding bull for their herd!

Successful pasture rotation this weekend. The grass is still as green and thick and for mid July in the Kansas heat, that makes us pretty happy! The rut is right around the corner so the bulls are chowing down and gaining weight to prepare for energy expenditure during breeding season. The calves are fat and happy and all the moms are being rockstars, as usual. So thankful!

We’ve had a lot of rain in the Flint Hills this spring and early summer…the bison have had a non stop buffet of good green protein! 🦬🌱

Today was a full circle moment- we just restocked our online meat inventory with bison who were born and raised their entire lives on our ranch 🤠
🦬Our foundation herd arrived from SD in 2022, they were bred for the first time in 2023, had their calves on our ranch in 2024, and those animals were raised and harvested by us in 2026.
🦬They’ve never seen the inside of a trailer, and they ate only our Flint Hills grass. It was bittersweet to harvest them, but knowing how and where they were raised makes it all worth it.

Sweet summertime in the Flint Hills!

You are what you eat…and so is your food! Our bison are 100% grass fed, raised on green grass on our pastures. They live how animals are supposed to live-which translates to meat that’s good for you AND that you can feel good about.
