This is some unusual weather. The geishenheim vines and rougeon vines were budding out, and last night the temp went down to 26 degrees. I am pretty sure that all of the vines that were budding are now frozen.

Just a reminder, we are harvesting Chambourcin grapes this Saturday the 21st. If you wish to assist we are starting at 8:30. It should be a nice morning, and as usual we will provide food and beverages for all who come.

Well, harvest is approaching. The Seyval Blanc vines are loaded and putting on good sugar. Looking forward to the first harvest.

Netting of the vines has begun. So far our area is being haunted by raccoons. We keep catching them and moving the critters to a better place. Hopefully Tuttle Creek will keep them on the west side of the water.

We now have had over 7 inches of rain in the last 5 days. I will not do a rain dance for at least a month. Time to spray the vines.

I keep saying... go out a prune, but the weather is just horrible. Today it is winding and cold and the wood stove feels too good.

We are harvesting the Chambourcin grapes on Saturday the 15th of September. The harvest will start at 8:30 am. We will be providing food and beverages. Please let me know if you are interested in helping with the harvest.

Thanks to all who came and helped with the Rougeon harvest. The vines all feel so much better this morning.
