Syrah season has officially arrived 🍂 🍷There’s something about these first crisp days of fall that call for a red wine with verve and depth, and Hervé Souhaut’s Syrah fits the mood perfectly—a truly
iconic bottle from one of the natural wine movement’s pioneers, and a pillar of Saint Joseph in the Northern Rhône.

Elegant, wild, and bursting with black cherries and violets that lift at the edges, this wine is made from 30-80 year-old vines on granitic soil and crackles with life. Truly a treat on its own, or paired with comforting fall dishes—everything from roast chicken to pizza.

Tariffs don’t just reshape taxes—they reshape entire supply chains, decades-long relationships, and the wines we have access to.

“Paying 15% upfront makes cash flow more difficult … importers will take fewer risks, and that means fewer grower Champagnes, fewer offbeat bottles,” says J&F president .

Thank you to and writer for continuing to shine a light on how every aspect of the wine industry has been disrupted by Trump’s tariffs.

Writes Zecevic: “Every person and business in the global wine and spirits supply chain is feeling the consequences. Bridges are burning, rather than being built—with damage that could potentially last decades.

“‘Our European partners feel sorry for us, and for the world in general, that this maniac with a 19th-century view of trade is the President of the United States,’ says Lefcourt. ‘He’s breaking free trade agreements and creating enemies where we had friends.’”
