The Death Caps they ate don't look similar to any choice mushrooms from my area so I have no idea what they confused them with, maybe a type of parasol.

Not confirming the ID killed 1 person and sent 20 more to the hospital

Find ways to feed people. Donate to Food Banks, fill Blessing Boxes, offer a free or extremely cheap meal.

If you are part of a political org, do a food drive with every event.

Feeding people who are struggling is the simplest PR/marketing

I wandered around the woods for a while today.

I found some coral tooth fungus, ringless honey mushroom, and what I'm pretty sure are old and decaying dryad's saddle

Ash Tree Bolettes (boletinellus merulioides) found in Manhattan KS. While edible this is not a tasty mushroom. When bruised or cut this mushroom turns blue

Another strange and cool thing about this mushroom is that they have a mutualistic relationship with leaf curl ash aphids that feed on the roots of ash trees. The aphids live in knots of underground mycelium that protects them and the fungus feeds on honeydew that the aphid produces.

If you see this fungus then some nearby tree has an aphid problem

Just harvested some more oyster and lions mane. The clump of oysters in the 2nd picture should have been harvested yesterday but I was dealing with some personal stuff that kept me out of the grow area
