HERE IS YOUR KANSAS HAY MARKET REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING JUNE 13

Compared to the previous report, hay movement was light as elevated transportation costs, wheat harvest activities, and severe storms limited market activity across portions of the state. Demand remained good. Producers continued preparations for second cutting, with early reports indicating favorable yield potential and improved crop conditions in many areas. However, prospects for the upcoming brome harvest remain below average, as armyworm infestations last year caused significant stand damage in some regions....

This past week, much of the state received beneficial moisture, providing needed relief to hay fields and row crops. The improved moisture conditions contributed to a slight decline in hay demand and movement as immediate forage concerns eased in some areas. HERE IS YOUR KANSAS HAY MARKET REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING MAY 19

Demand remained strong this past week as new crop alfalfa harvest progresses and first cutting yields come in below expectations. Ongoing drought conditions across much of the state have increased buyer urgency, supporting higher prices. Demand increased substantially this past week as drought conditions persist across many areas of the state.
