Our 2022 Cabernet Franc was recently named Best in Class, a recognition we’re especially proud of given the story behind that vintage.⬇️

2022 was a strong year for us in Lancaster County. It was also our FIRST harvest using a mechanical harvester, which allowed us to bring the fruit in quickly and at precisely the right moment. At harvest, timing and temperature make a measurable difference in quality, and that precision shows in the finished wine.

The fruit came in beautifully that year, producing one of our STRONGEST Cabernet Franc vintages to date.

The season also brought a real test🐦: drought conditions that year are ideal for grape quality BUT leave birds with fewer natural food sources elsewhere, so pressure on the vines was especially intense. Protecting the fruit through that stretch took extra vigilance.

A number of factors aligned for us in 2022, and we feel blessed to see it recognized.

We're honored to share that our 2023 Old Line Chardonnay has received international recognition.

Our Chardonnay was recognized among the highest-performing finalists in the Combined Analysis of the 2026 Judgment of Davis, a statistically powered blind tasting study conducted in collaboration with the University of California, Davis and the Harvard Data Science Review.

Selected from approximately 120 Chardonnay submissions from around the world, our wine advanced to the final tasting alongside producers from Burgundy, Napa Valley, Australia, South Africa, and other renowned wine regions. Even more exciting, it delivered the strongest performance relative to its price, showing that exceptional wine doesn't have to come with an exceptional price tag.

As a family winery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, this recognition is incredibly meaningful. We're proud to see Pennsylvania wine earning a place on the global stage.

Swipe to see the lasting effects of April’s historic frost.

The only difference between these two vines is how they experienced the historic frost event that swept across much of the East Coast in late April.

One vine continued growing fairly normally. The other suffered significant frost damage, resulting in no shoots or grape clusters.

While we’re grateful that most of our vines survived, the effects of that frost are still visible today. Across our vineyards, we expect fruit yields to be roughly 30–50% below average this season.

Many growers throughout the region were affected, and some vineyards experienced even greater losses. It’s a reminder of the challenges farmers face each year, many of which are completely beyond their control.
