Community building is a core value of Care Doula. And last week we slowed down our regular operations to provide our bars for United Way’s Women of Heart luncheon, sous chef for our friends at S&B BBQ (who took 2nd place at Ribfest), and provide food for Peter Garner’s Campaign Kickoff party. Love this community, and love every opportunity to support it with our time and talents.

A little nervous and excited to incorporate more education into Care Doula services. As a registered dietitian I am passionate about helping women find peace with their body, food, and movement. Those thoughts that we have inform how we approach meals, meal prep, and other lifestyle styles. More to come on that later.

In order to understand those thoughts, we need to understand where those thoughts even came from or our social conditioning and the expectations of the identities we hold. So, over the next of weeks we’ll be diving into the history of fatphobia, our beauty standards and more. Today, we are starting our history lesson with Mary Magdalene and what her story teaches us about turning inwards to find love and acceptance from within.
