Your Saffron's First Bloom Is Just the Beginning 🌸

If you've already planted your saffron corms, you may be watching for those first little green shoots to appear.

And if you're lucky, you might already be seeing beautiful purple flowers!

But here's something many first-time saffron growers don't realize...

The work your saffron does AFTER blooming is just as important as the flowers themselves.

Once your saffron flowers finish blooming, those thin, grass-like leaves will continue growing throughout the cooler months.

And here's why that matters:

🌱 Those leaves are feeding next year's corms. They're collecting energy through photosynthesis to support future growth and multiplication.

🌱 Don't cut the leaves back! Even after the flowers disappear, leave the green foliage alone until it naturally turns yellow and dies back in late spring or early summer.

🌱 Your saffron can multiply! Over time, healthy corms produce daughter corms, giving you the potential for more flowers in future seasons.

🌱 You don't have to dig them up every year. In suitable growing conditions, saffron can remain planted for several years before the corms need dividing.

That's the beauty of growing saffron. You're not just planting for one harvest. You're building something that can grow year after year.
