Some “Good Doin’ Bulls” in the making slowly working their way in from pasture for their evening feeding! This pen of bulls is gearing up to be the deepest and most consistent set we’ve offered to date!

Calves got the hard wean out of their system and were ecstatic to see that gate open to their grass paddock. They’ve handled the transition well and have hit the ground running into their next phase of development!

We had the A team on staff to help care for the newly weaned calves. From the looks of it, they’re slowly figuring out this “cattle thing”!

Patience is a virtue and in this case it sure paid off! Absolutely gorgeous weather to kick off weaning. Things are about to get a bit louder around the place!

Last night's rain capped off an extremely wet September. 13 inches, to be exact, over the course of the month, which should result in our rye and pasture seeding to explode. The extended forecast looks like it will finally give us a break as we look to ramp up harvest and weaning next week!

We put the hammer down last week to beat the rain and get our corn silage put up. Moisture and tonnage were phenomenal, resulting in arguably one of our best crops in years. The cattle should be eating well when the snow flies this winter. Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's harvest a success once again!

Last week, we hosted our very first field day with Practical Farmers of Iowa. Thank you for the incredible turnout from producers both locally and statewide and for allowing us to share our insights on cattle epigenetics and annual forage grazing!

Kicking the week off with a few pasture rotations. We’ve been blessed with an abundance of rain recently rejuvenating pasture, crops, and spirits around the ranch!

A cool, misty morning last Friday to gather and consolidate herd bulls to cap off the breeding season. Of course, with consolidation comes the battle for hierarchy within the pasture, too. They'll be sore, with the only significant damage possibly done to their pride, but will have plenty of time to rest and recover until duty calls again next year!
