Last week, we hosted our very first field day with Practical Farmers of Iowa. Thank you for the incredible turnout from producers both locally and statewide and for allowing us to share our insights on cattle epigenetics and annual forage grazing!

Kicking the week off with a few pasture rotations. We’ve been blessed with an abundance of rain recently rejuvenating pasture, crops, and spirits around the ranch!

A cool, misty morning last Friday to gather and consolidate herd bulls to cap off the breeding season. Of course, with consolidation comes the battle for hierarchy within the pasture, too. They'll be sore, with the only significant damage possibly done to their pride, but will have plenty of time to rest and recover until duty calls again next year!

A calm and peaceful morning to rotate replacement heifers and pull cleanup bulls at our Guthrie division. Herefords back home to be retired tomorrow to conclude another successful breeding season!

A nice breeze and cooler temperatures made for a great day to host the Iowa Cattlemen's Association ICLP Class of 2026. Always one of our favorite tours each year, these young producers had the chance to learn about our history, genetic program, conservation efforts and even witnessed firsthand our annual forage program in action!
