UPDATE: Mom's 1st chemotherapy session is fast approaching and we're scrambling to get some last minute things finalized. We're just not finding the time to catch and sort the grows out like we had wanted. Hopefully, next weekend we'll be able to catch up and y'all will be seeing an availability post from us. Thanks for the understanding, and my apologies for getting people's hopes up

I still need to round everyone up in order to sort and tag the exact amount going out, but I can at least list current breeds and colors I'll be letting go of for sure. I'll have everything from freshly hatched to proven adults; mostly juveniles in between.

Geese: sebastopol/african crosses (some have a dewlap and/or frill back feathers), pure african, and pure sebastopol (mostly splash and grey; possibility of buff)

Ducks: muscovy (barred and pied: black, blue, silver, lilac, and buff), calls (black and blue), cayuga cross, and runners (mixed light and dark colors).

We're located in Mannington, WV.

The only time I'll meet is if I already have plans to be in an area for errands and/or appointments (mostly UHC Bridgeport for the oncologist and orthopedic). If you need me to deliver outside of pre-planned trios, then travel will need to be calculated and added on.

Due to a multiple of costly health issues recently, I will not be open to haggling and/or discounts as I normally am.

Unfortunately, with all the rain it's unlikely we'll have the sorting done in time for the swap. We'll most likely just post our availability on the farm page and cross posted to the local swap pages.

This lovely muscovy hen needs a name.

Little Miss is enjoying her foaming epsom salt bath as best she can while be egg bound for at least 48 hours. Luckily, she is still passing stool, but it is starting to slow down and worry us.

She'll be riding along with Wicked and myself tomorrow when we take Irwin in for his staple removal and to check the wing on our little lemon gosling, Cotton.

Bittersweet Day. We got the call ducklings moved to their ground pen, but we lost our sweet old guy, R***r.

RIP R***r. We can only hope the next generation is just as sweet.

About 2 dozen eggs directly from him and our 3 best hens currently in the incubator. Fingers crossed on a good hatch.

Since it's not dawn I'm counting this as our Thursday post—because we haven't missed 3 other scheduled posts or anything.

We recently came across some downright gorgeous cayuga photos when casually browsing eggs. We wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to Shamrock Farm Wyandottes for breeding some amazing cayuga—champion waterfowl on a drake! Absolutely had to put in an order for 1 dozen eggs.

Unfortunately, even though they did everything right from there end, we could only get two eggs to pip. This little guy pictured is breaking hearts while his mate finishes up hatching.

We wouldn't let that deter us! After talking with the owner—wonderfully patient with our thousand and one questions—we put in our order for 8 cayuga and 6 blue silver appleyard ducklings.

Looking forward to snuggling our two hatched while we wait (im)patiently for our duckling order 🥰

I know I've been seriously slacking on the picture and update department, so I'm going to start making one small post every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. We're a day early, or late, with this post, but we wanted to introduce two of our newest additions.

Everyone meet Cotton and Char, our "twin" one-eyed geese. They were born exactly 2 weeks apart, to different nests and different breeds. They've both been to see our favorite veterinarians at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital—we've seen all 3 avian exotic veterinarians and love going there. Given the massive fluctuation in temperature and humidity lately—plus Char had 3 hens sharing her nest—we're fairly certain that played the part in their disabilities.

Regardless, they will never be used for breeding and will join our growing disabled flock. We do occasionally take in other special needs poultry if time and funds allow, but we're always happy to answer any questions and point other owners in the right direction to care for their special flock members.
