Food Production Assistant – Farm & Specialty Foods
Starting Pay: $16/hour
Grateful Pastures / Farm Broth is looking for a dependable, energetic person to join our small production team at our USDA-inspected food processing facility in Mansfield, Georgia.
This is a hands-on position that would be a great fit for anyone interested in food, agriculture, culinary production, small business, or simply a job where you can stay busy and see what you accomplished at the end of the day.
We are a local farm and food business producing bone broth, sausage, rendered tallow products, and other specialty foods for farmers, markets, and retail customers. This isn't an assembly-line factory environment—you'll work alongside a small team and learn several parts of how a USDA-inspected food business operates.
What you'll do:
Depending on the production day, you may:
Fill and pouch bone broth
Label and package finished products
Help make sausage and other specialty foods
Produce and package whipped tallow creams
Prepare products for storage and sale
Wash equipment and keep production areas clean and sanitary
Assist with general food-production tasks as needed
The work is active and hands-on. Some days involve repetitive packaging or labeling, while others involve making products from start to finish.
We'd love someone who is:
Dependable and punctual, comfortable working on their feet, willing to learn, and able to follow food-safety and sanitation procedures carefully. You do not need previous food-processing experience—we're happy to train the right person.
This could be especially valuable experience for students interested in agriculture, food science, culinary arts, nutrition, business, sustainability, or entrepreneurship, but no particular major is required.
