I write this with a heavy, heavy heart.
Yesterday we got the call that our landlords want to move back to the farm. We are absolutely devastated. California is not renter friendly right now so we don’t think we’ll be able to take our little farm biz with us. Right when we were getting more exposure and adding to our regulars. Right when we ordered more birds and filled the incubator and right when we had plans on getting more angus. Maybe this is our push from the Lord to buy. All we can do now is pray that something comes up before August when we need to move.
With this terrible news we’re already starting to downsize our flock, meaning we won’t get as many eggs a day, meaning we might need a few days in advance when you want eggs. We will sell eggs as long as we have them. I will keep my eyes peeled for someone local to refer our loyal costumers to.
In the mean time, thank you all so much for your support and this last few years of chicken fun!
We will continue to do meat birds until we move since those only live 6-8 weeks.
Keep our little farming family in your prayers that we find something to move to and hopefully continue doing what we love! There’s power in prayer.
With all the love, Goncalves Farms family
