We have had some babies born over the last few days and not all of them are rabbits!

Blossom had her litter today, this will be her last litter before she is retired due to a couple health reasons. She had her largest litter yet of 11 blacks! 4 were DOA so we have a health litter of 7 in the nest box right now! I’m hoping to keep a doe back so that it keeps the REW genes in my barn!

We also hatch some chicks born on Saturday! There was 14 eggs the hen was laying on, we weren’t sure if these eggs would even hatch since they were close to 3 weeks old before we put them under her. We had lost our rooster to a c**n attack and didn’t have a broody hen so I gave eggs to my friend to incubate once her current eggs hatched. The day before she was going to put my eggs in one of my hens went broody! 7 hatched. 5 of the 7 are roosters, we will be deciding which one gets to stay to protect our flock and then the rest can find a new home in a couple months.

Spent about 4-5 hours deep cleaning half of the barn today. Took all cages out, scrubbed them down and disinfected them,...

Spent about 4-5 hours deep cleaning half of the barn today. Took all cages out, scrubbed them down and disinfected them, cleaned all feeders and waterers as well.

I cull very hard on the friendliness of my rabbits, but sometimes they make it a little harder to do work in the cages🤣 videos in comment

Came home from work tonight to 2 brand new litters!

Vela x Pete (pending GC) gave us 4 blacks. She had 5 but one was doa. Both parents carry chocolate, possibly dilute. Pete carries REW.

Juniper (Pending GC) x Boris(GC) gave us 4 blacks and 3 black torts! Juniper carries black, chocolate and black tort, possibly dilute. Boris has been proven to carry black and black tort, possibly chocolate and dilute (Vela is his aunt)

Giving us 24 blacks and 3 black torts under the age of 3 weeks! Excited to see how these 4 litters will turn out!

We are still waiting on Blossom(my REW doe) to kindle, but I’m thinking she didn’t take and will rebreed this weekend if she hasn’t had them by then.

7 healthy blacks in this litter out of my black tort doe (Callie) and my black buck (Pete) who carries rew and chocolate.

Chestnut(PCBAC) is now registered and granded!

Still waiting for Pete’s( ROTR62) registration and GC papers to come in the mail. I then have to get Juniper(ROTR54) registered after she has this litter, so that she can get her GC legs turned in!

Sylvia graced us lastnight with a perfect litter of 10 blacks! And was an overachiever with fur pulling😆

She’s bred to Pete, so it’s a black to black pairing. If she carries chocolate, there is the possibility of all colors including REW! But will probably be all black😅

We had a blast at the NIRCC show in Shipshewana, IN today! Caught up with some friends and met some new people.

Thank you Tricia at Shelton Acres Homestead and Rabbitry for cheering for us and driving us around today! We appreciate it🙂

I brought 2 Silver Foxes with me to show and both did really well!

ROTR54- Juniper placed BOB in both show A and B. Earning her 3rd leg and can now be granded once she gets to SR weight.

ROTR62- Pete, went with us to get registered, and ended up placing BOSB for show A and B, earning his 6th leg! Now we just have to wait for the legs to come in so we can send them out to grand a couple rabbits!

I had a great time with friends and met some great people at the MSRBA rabbit show this weekend! I brought 4 rabbits to show, and they all placed pretty well!

Sylvia- ROTR24: placed BOB in show A & B, and 1st place in show C & D. She is now registered and a pending GC!

Chestnut- PCBAC: placed BOSB in show A, BOSV in B, BOV in C & D! He got registered as well and his GC papers are sent in the mail!

Pete- ROTR62: he’s 5 months old, but showed as a 6/8, placing BOSV in show A, BOSB in B, and BOB in C. He now has enough legs to register and grand, just needs to gain 3oz to make SR weight.

Juniper-ROTR54: place BOSB in show C, earning her first leg.

Next shows I’m planning on going to is Shipshewana on the 21st, and Evart Mi, on 4/11!

Sylvia got bred when we got home, excited for her litter to come the end of this month as well as the 4 other litters we have growing out/ due soon!
