We have been on the hunt for a new buck for the few years, but couldn't find just what we wanted in our price range. Of course, the couple of breedings that we would have gone over our price range had no availability. Looking at the herd, and what was needed now (you are always gaining and losing with every year of breeding) we made the simple decision to go back to the original well.
Sandy Riehle's Reuel herd was the first place we bought our serious bucks, and she is a wonderful mentor. It made perfect sense to trust that we'd find the perfect next step for our herds there. A trip to Deer Park and a quick visit to pick up our new boy were bonus!
We are very happy with Reuel May Day's DAV Monty! His dam is beautiful and productive, even with half an udder, and the functioning half is very pretty! She is powerful, wide- a great example of dairy strength. May Day's appraisal this year confirmed our opinion of her- 04-03 91 VEEE Monty is a gangly youngster right now, but SO sweet! We look forward to using him!
