Wintergreen Tree Farm we are a seasonal farm, offering specialty crops. We have chestnuts in October, and Christmas trees, opening the day after Thanksgiving.

Good morning. It looks like we are starting another dry spell. We will be out in the fields watering the newly planted Christmas trees until we get some forecasted rain. We are in a special zone, in which we frequently see rain to both the North and south (think Auburn and Shalersville) and we stay dry.
In the meantime, as you drive past our chestnut orchards, you will see what looks like balls all over the trees. These are the chestnut flowers, and they bloom in June, hopefully after the last freeze. They are fully in bloom when you see the flowers are feathery and cream colored. Right now it looks like we will have a nice crop in October.

We are now closed for 2025. We want to thank every one of you, our loyal customers. You bring us great joy every year, and we love seeing you again each year.

We are now going into hibernation until spring, when you will be able to find us in
the fields, pruning our trees and mowing
the grass. We look forward to seeing you again in October.

To all of the folks that like to wait until the last minute to get your Christmas tree, this is that moment! Whether you've been too busy, or you like to light candles on your tree, or you celebrate Eastern Orthodox Christmas on January 7, the time has come to get your real, live Christmas tree.
We are open today and tomorrow from 9-5, and will close for the 2025 season after December 21. We will reopen to sell chestnuts in October 2026, and for Christmas trees the day after Thanksgiving 2026. Thank you for coming out and supporting local farms. A big thanks to Derthicks Corn Maze for joining us this year with hot drinks and donuts.

OK, so I got my dates mixed up. Yesterday I said it was December 14. Well, today is Sunday, December 14 and it's darned cold outside. However, Wintergreen Tree Farm IS OPEN TODAY until 5. We do have at least 4-6" of snow on the ground, so please make sure to wear boots and dress for the weather. Our front lot is the only lot open for the rest of the season. Please DO NOT TRY TO GO BEYOND THE FIRST LOT. YOU WILL GET STUCK.!!😵

Good morning! It is Saturday, December 14, 2025, and Wintergreen Tree Farm will be open at all three lots today. Due to the impending extremely cold and snowy forecast, we will only open lot #1 tomorrow and through the rest of the season. We will continue to be open through December 21, which will be our last day in 2025. We still have a selection of wreaths and swags available.
Don't forget, while you're here, take advantage of the donuts and hot beverages offered by Derthicks Corn Maze. They have a small trailer which will be in lot #2 today and then moving to lot #1 tomorrow. With the cold weather coming, you'll be glad you did.
