We are a small scale hobby farm/homestead in Maple City, MI just outside Traverse City.

Egg overload and Sunday special which will actually run until I have a more manageable amount of full cartons 😜

Duck eggs $8/dz or 2/$12
Chicken eggs $5/dz or 2/$8
Quail eggs $5/dz
Bantam eggs (small chicken) $3/dz or 2/$5

And I have some specially and carefully selected and saved hatching eggs! They need an incubator ASAP! $1/egg or $10/dz. Potential PRETTY olive eggers and pure legbar. This next week's breakfast for the kids if they aren't sold this weekend 😆

Goose and duck hatching eggs as well. Time sensitive, I'd love to see these get hatched!

Message me if you need our address! We had to pull our "open" flag which stood out on the back of the farmstand (😒🙄) but I have a sign out by the road. Self serve!

Man! I wanted to be done hatching quail this season until THIS popped into my nesting box this morning! If I get a few more this week I may pop them in. I need more of these cute little Robin's eggs on the regular! 😍💙

Our last batch of standard chicks this season 💙🐥💚

Adding in some Pita Pinta Asturiana (Dalmatian chickens lol!) and Lavender Amerecauna from a local friend (thanks The Creekside Chicken Coop!) plus some of our own crosses aimed at getting a few more greens, golds, dark tones and speckles. Some of these may be available as grow outs depending on what we hatch. Really just going with the flow this year---zero plans and so much less stress 😜

Now that my incubators are loaded, let me fill yours! I can save some of these beautiful hatching eggs so you too can have a beautiful, earthy egg rainbow!

It's always fun when you actually catch which hen lays what. This is my Rhode Island Red x Legbar from last year. The example of the Rhode Island Red egg isn't as pink as what this girl hatched from but at least helps illustrate how the egg color genetics can fall! The rooster carries the dominant blue egg gene, so in a way it's kind of a "mixing paint" type thing--at least in this circumstance. It really depends on what genetics each rooster vs hen bring to the mix! Really interesting. The Rhode Island Red egg she hatched from had a really heavy pink, almost mauve bloom. You can see the almost blue/teal tinted bloom on the offspring egg and the green underneath. 💚 That's why I have come to really just love the hatching for egg color vs chicken type. It's a total (somewhat predictable) lottery and much less stressful than all the breeding for perfection stuff. That's 100% my personality ;) . I have a few chicks left from some of these mixes if interested! Hatched just about a week ago and ready to go!

Baby quail will be ready for your brooder starting tomorrow! Let us know if interested! I have no plans of hatching any more quail this season, and hatching eggs are sparse right now in our coop.

Great news! Almost every single chicken egg I set 4 days ago is developing. That means the fertilization rate appears to be stellar! So, it's looking good for chicks soon AND it's looking great for hatching eggs! If interested in either, reach out or stay tuned.

And---these quail eggs are on lockdown and pipping like crazy. Quail babies early next week and they will all be looking for a new home 🐣

Setting these beauties for a test hatch. Should all go well, I will have chicks up for grabs in about 3 weeks 💚💙🐣💙💚. Cost TBD but will be affordable this year across the board! All chicks will be re-homed as straight run meaning you may be getting hens OR roosters.

In about a week I will know if hatching eggs will be available. I should have 2 available mix pens to choose from. I'm aiming for a low stress season so I can really simplify and focus on important projects that have been stacking up. If we do hatching eggs, it will truly be a get what you get mix from either of the below options. If I save hatching eggs I choose the best of the best (fresh, shape, size, cleanliness). $15/dozen.

🫒🥚Red coop: high chance of green layers. First and second generation greens/mints/teals/olives. Chance of pure Crested Cream Legbar (blue). Chance of frizzled Legbar. I have a little of everything in this coop--Rhode Island Red, Legbar, Leghorn, Lavender Orpingtons, many olive eggers, Barred Rock, Speckled Sussex, Wellsummers and more.

👸👑Green coop (Laura's fancy princess pen!): chance of silkie crossed with any of the following- frizzle, showgirl (naked neck), satin, polish, silkie. Variety of colors, no colored eggs layers. I will not guarantee any colors or feathering. This is truly a fun mix/hens choice from our princess chickens!

Great news on quail! Out of 30 eggs set, 23 are developing beautifully at the 7 day mark ❤️

The 7 eggs that didn't develop were almost all cracked and I didn't catch them, so our fertilization rate looks pretty good!

These are a Coturnix/ Jumbo mix. I'm not up on all the feathering patterns. I do know a few are Red Range Celadon including 1 of the boys (blue egg). I don't have a huge covey currently but if interested keep an eye here as I may be able to share some hatching eggs!
