In Memory of ANDREW R. HOCEVAR, age 97. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Dvorak); son of the late Andrew and Jennie (Skufca); loving father of Louise Vanek (Mark), the late Lawrence, Stephen (Marijo), Deborah, and Therese; dear grandfather of Michael Szabo (Yulia), Jamie Struna, Jason Szabo, Renee Feliciano (Chris), Dina, Alexander (Jessica), and Daniel; great grandfather of Taylor Struna, Oscar Szabo, Amelia, and Lainey; brother of the late Dorothy Kalchert (the late Raymond) and Richard (Annette). Andrew was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served during the second World War. Andrew, together with his brother, Richard, owned and operated Maple Heights Catering before passing the business down to Stephen. Andrew was an accomplished button box accordion player and was a founding member of the Maple Hts. Button Box Club, recording 2 albums, appearing on Polka Varieties, and hosting several trips to Europe. Later, he founded the Hocevar Family Band. He volunteered his polka music to many nursing homes and assisted living facilities, bringing joy to many. He was very involved with the Slovenian community and was awarded Slovenian Man of the Year by the Maple Hts. Slovenian Home. Besides music, Andrew loved to travel, fish, camp, and mostly, to spend time with his friends and family. Funeral Tuesday 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Andy’s life 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
