Tomorrow's the day! ❤️

We’ve had fun showing you some of the items Mill Brae Ranch is contributing to this year’s Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry, but tomorrow is about much more than coolers, beef and a beautiful loveseat.

It’s about neighbors helping neighbors.

Our auction contributions this year include:

• The one-of-a-kind antique loveseat transformed by Brooke at Ad Astra Boot Co.
• A large assortment of Mill Brae Ranch beef + RTIC cooler
• Two 10-lb. ground beef + RTIC cooler packages
• A 20-lb. ground beef + RTIC tote package
• Two RTIC tumblers

Some will be in the silent auction and that special loveseat and mega beef bundle will be in the live auction.

We hope you’ll join us tomorrow, September 19, for the Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry and help support individuals and families in our county facing medical needs.

Come hungry. Come ready to bid. And come help take care of our neighbors. ❤️

We couldn't send just beef. 😉

A couple more items are headed to the Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry silent auction from Mill Brae Ranch — including two RTIC 30 oz. tumblers.

They’ll join our beef-and-RTIC packages in the silent auction, while our one-of-a-kind loveseat and mega beef bundle will be waiting for the live auction.

There will be plenty to bid on September 19 — and the best part is knowing those bids will help Wabaunsee County neighbors when medical needs arise.

This one will put a little more beef in the freezer! 🥩

Another Mill Brae Ranch package headed to the Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry silent auction:

20 lbs. of Mill Brae Ranch ground beef + an RTIC insulated tote.

A practical package that should come in pretty handy — whether you’re feeding a family, firing up the grill or just like having plenty of beef in the freezer.

Come ready to bid September 19. Every bid helps support individuals and families right here in Wabaunsee County facing medical needs.

From an old loveseat to something one-of-a-kind. ❤️

We’ve shared the finished piece, but we thought you might enjoy seeing a little of what went into this special project for the Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry.

This antique loveseat was transformed by Brooke at Ad Astra Boot Co., combining Pendleton fabric, leather and hair-on-hide to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Brooke did all of the upholstery work, and the loveseat is currently at her shop if you’d like to stop in and see it in person before the auction.

It will be offered in the live auction September 19, with proceeds helping Wabaunsee County individuals and families facing medical needs.

A big thank-you to Brooke for taking our idea and turning it into something pretty special!

We weaned the heifer calves this morning. They’ve had a good summer and weaning weights averaged out at 685 lbs. The heavyweight of the day weighed 818 lbs.

We might be crazy for weaning in this heat, but all the calves have access to shade and we’ll kick the sprinklers on in the afternoon. The bulls weaned off extremely easy. They’re all at the bunk each morning and some are already shaded up for the day.

We said it last week, but we’re strong believers in using FerAppease to cut down on some of the stress at weaning time. Mark even built himself a fancy FerAppease stand.

Happy Labor Day weekend!

We weaned the bull calves today. We’re extremely lucky to have the amount of grass we did this summer. Weaning weights averaged 722 lbs. with the heaviest topping out at 882. We strongly believe in using FerAppease on calves to help mitigate the stress of weaning time. We also revaccinated and took TSU samples to send in to get genomics back on all of them. Happy Saturday!

A sneak peek at something pretty special headed to the Wabaunsee County Mountain Oyster Fry Live Auction! 🤎

Mill Brae Ranch and Ad Astra Boot Co. are teaming up to donate this one-of-a-kind loveseat for the Mountain Oyster Fry.

A vision from Mill Brae Ranch paired with Brooke's craftsmanship at Ad Astra Boot Co. brought this one-of-a-kind piece to life! She combined genuine leather, real hair-on-hide, and Pendleton Sunbrella Chief Joseph fabric to create a piece that feels right at home in the Flint Hills.

And it looks even better in person!

The loveseat is on display at Ad Astra Boot Co., and Brooke will be open during Hot Alma Nights tomorrow. Stop in to see it—and while you're there, take some time to look around. The shop is full of unique western jewelry, boots, home goods, and plenty of other things you won't find just anywhere.

It's definitely worth a stop during Hot Alma Nights!

We spent the morning and part of the afternoon pregnancy checking all of the cows and bred heifers, giving all of the calves pre-weaning vaccinations, and getting everything sorted up and back to pasture until weaning time in a month or so. A big thank you goes out to Bill Tenpenny for being one of our right hand guys, we couldn’t have gotten it all done without him!
