Elk Run Farm Elk Run Farm grows fresh fruits and vegetables for the food banks of the South King County Food Coalition

Elk Run Farm grows fruits, vegetables, and herbs for the 12 food banks of the South King County Food Coalition. Located on 4.5 acres of a former golf course in suburban Maple Valley, WA, the farm uses a mix of education, volunteer work, and community partnerships to help increase food security across our region. Every school year the farm partners with the Tahoma High School Plant Science program

where students spend one class period a week working and learning on the farm in the spring and fall. During the summer, 6-10 youth work on the farm through our paid internship program where they learn small-scale no-till farming, group decision making, and leadership skills. Community members help harvest vegetables as often as three times a week during the peak season months of July-September, and there are always projects happening around the farm as well. If you’re interested in staying engaged with us, follow along on social media, sign up for our newsletter, and come help out at the farm to learn something new!
