🥔 Doing a little digging in the fields today!

Isaac took a few test digs around the farm to check on progress, and the tubers are looking fantastic! Here’s a peek at how our different varieties are sizing up under the soil:

Yukon Golds: Showing off that beautiful golden color

Russets: Bulking up nicely and sizing up right on schedule

Reds: Bright, smooth, and coming along great

All the hard work put into the soil this season is paying off, and harvest will be here before we know it.

There is nothing quite like driving past the fields when the potato plants are in full blossom. It’s one of our favorite milestones of the summer because it means the growing season is officially in full swing and those tubers are busy developing under the soil!

From close-ups of the white flowers to views all the way out to the red barn, the fields are looking healthy, full, and green.

Thanks to Blaisdell Equipment, we’re making the most of this beautiful day to test out the new cultivator! As you can see down the rows, it's doing a fantastic job reshaping the hills and cleaning up the weeds so our potato plants have plenty of room to grow.

While some of our fields are busy growing potatoes, these spots are taking a well-deserved rest. We plant cover crops like annual ryegrass and broadcast oats to keep our soil healthy, strong, and full of nutrients for future seasons.

We even have some beautiful lupines for pollinators!

The weather is absolutely perfect, the rows are looking crisp, and our crew is working hard to get one of our favorite signature varieties into the ground; Caribou Russets. There is nothing like looking out from the cab and seeing those beautiful Aroostook County hills waking up for the season!
