A lifelong learner, Jenny’s curiosity has taken her many places. She always knew she would be happiest spending time outdoors and helping animals. She thought she might have been a naturalist, zoologist, veterinarian, biologist or herbalist. Her career as a farrier has been an excellent fit, challenging and rewarding her, and always keeping her engaged mentally and physically. She enjoys helping horses attain and maintain their best possible balance and hoof health. Jenny enjoys connecting with well behaved horses and their caretakers. Her patience and goal of providing excellent service to the horse and owner have served her well.
Jenny offers high quality trimming and shoeing. She provides a strong foundation in the trim, and complements that with shoeing as is appropriate and beneficial. She attained Certification with the American Farriers Association in 2015 and is currently preparing to test for Journeyman. She values education for the entire horse industry, from first time owners, to high level riders, trainers, farriers and veterinarians. Ignorance doesn’t serve the horse as well as education. She enjoys answering questions and asking them. Jenny has apprenticed with several successful farriers and enjoys networking with other professionals. Many farriers in the industry share the goals of higher education, quality work and professionalism.
Riding since age 9, owning a horse and continuing to take lessons in multiple disciplines brings another dimension of understanding to Jenny’s work. She’s a well rounded horsewoman and professional, and appreciates working with others that are actively involved and interested in great care for their animals. She appreciates and understands the needs of show horses, trail horses, and retirees. She likes helping athletes achieve comfort and performance in the show ring. She and her skills are versatile, consistent, and reliable. She has worked for horses, owners and trainers showing saddleseat, hunter jumper, eventing, dressage, 4-H and gaming, pleasure and trails. Some of her favorite clients have been Morgans, Arabians, Hackney ponies, Missouri Foxtrotters, Tennessee walkers, Saddlebreds and Thoroughbreds. Of course there are favorites of many other breeds, the list is long. Jenny loves a good personality and good ground manners!
Since her start as a farrier in 2010 after graduating from the MN School of Horseshoeing, Jenny has met many clients and horses and many of them have become good friends. She appreciates the development of mutual trust through communication and consistency. She is very thankful for the great clients she has and is looking to connect with people who want quality care for their animals. Connect with her today to find out how she can help you.
