In the time we live in, it is important to contribute to the community with the best fresh locally grown produce with the lowest carbon footprint feasible. In Southern Arizona, with over 300 days a year of sun, we never have an off season. Our systems are planned to take advantage of this environment with a sustainable growing cycle including both aquaponics and hydroponics. In this controlled env
ironment, we have mirrored nature's natural growth cycle with little to no waste. We offer our Tucsonians locally grown produce with reduced food spoilage. Our main focus is on aquaponicly grown lettuce, but we supply local markets with numerous herbs, ornamentals, and succulents. We are also Proud to grow Moringa Trees that's also referred as "The Tree of Life"!
Lettuce is a good source of vitamin A, vitamin K and potassium, with higher concentrations of vitamin A found in darker green lettuces. It also provides some dietary fiber (concentrated in the spine and ribs), carbohydrates, protein and a small amount of fat.
We anticipate three thousand heads of lettuce a week at full capacity and our tomatoes are supplied from our controlled environment greenhouses. At Maggie's Farm, we are a close knit family, including our four dogs, two miniature donkeys, flock of chickens and our herd of sheep.
