11/17 - It is a wonderful time to visit the Farm. The weather has been great coupled with fantastic customers makes an enjoyable time for all. Last weekend was no exception and we had a nice little surprise - fresh Strawberries to pick!
Through November, the Farm will be open on FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY with all the activities (the Flowers are a bit faded) AND ............. Strawberries !!!! Yep, those amazing juicy red Strawberries are ready to pick. I love to pick berries in the Fall before the plants get all grown up and hide their fruit.
We need to keep an eye on the weather as we have a good chance of rain Wednesday and Thursday. If it does rain, Saturday or Sunday might be the better option this weekend. We will put up a post as soon as we can on Friday to let you know the current conditions.
We are just giddy with joy and hope to share it with you soon.

11/8 - It appears folks will have their choice of Summer or Winter this weekend. Today we have a forecast high of 86 - wear shorts, tomorrow a high of 66 with a breezy north wind - wear a coat.

The Farm is open and going wonderfully well. Our 'open hours' have changed for the remainder of 2025 to: Friday through Sunday 10am to 6 pm. I like November because it is a slower more relaxed pace. We still have most of the displays and pumpkins out so it a good time to get those Fall pictures without being photo bombed.

Is it going to Freeze? I feel like we are going to be very close tomorrow night so we are going to cover up 4 or 5 acres here on the Farm side. This is only to protect the blooms that are on the plants so we can have some berries for picking later this month. A little freeze like this will not hurt any of the plants, covered or not. So, today we will be sweating as we lay out covers and tomorrow wearing jackets as we deploy them. I am HOPING to have some berries for customers to pick Friday the 21st. Stay tuned.

The fall fun continues through the month of November! All activities are open when we’re open BUT “open hours and days” ...

The fall fun continues through the month of November! All activities are open when we’re open BUT “open hours and days” have changed. Check the front page of sweetberryfarm.com for the updates! By the way my daughters made this calendar a Monday start calendar so just beware of that too.

Yesterday we had a surprise 0.2 inches - we will take it! There was a 20% chance of rain so I didn't think much of it. Soooo today we will have some slick spots, especially between the flower rows and a few spots in Texas. Just be careful and folks should have nothing to worry about.
The "Harvest of Fall Fun" continues through November and possibly into December. Our 'open hours' change starting tomorrow so be sure to check the Calendar on the front page before coming out. November is a great time to come out because the crowds are small and it is a little slower pace (or maybe that is us farmhands?).
202,000 Strawberry plants are now in the ground. We have to replace some that didn't make it through planting but that won't take long. Depending on weather - I expect to have some Strawberries to pick toward the end of this month. Hope to see you soon!

10/31 -- A little late but we will certainly take it! This weather is wonderful. It was 33 degrees at the Farm yesterday morning ------ the flowers escaped by the hair on their chinny chin chin. It is a great time to come out to the Farm. The temperatures have been great, the recent rainfall has settled the dust and greened us up abit, the crowds will be small and all of the activities are moving smoothly. Be sure to take a look at the calendar on the front website page as our "open days" are soon to change.
We should finish planting Strawberries this weekend, whew. It will be nice to get that job done. Our first planting at the end of September was of varieties that produce berries early. Most of those plants have taken hold and are growing and blooming. Depending on the weather ---- we might have some berries to pick in about two or three weeks. Stay tuned and hope to see you soon!

10/26/2025

Sunday is 10/26-- Today is going to be another fantastic day! Even if you can't make it to the farm, we hope you can get out and enjoy "Sunny with a high near 82" Wow!
We had another 2 tenths last night bringing our rain event to 2.4 inches. It was much needed and much appreciated. The grounds are in pretty good shape with only a few muddy spots. The Flower field is the place to watch for muddy spots. The grass is damp this morning with a heavy dew but I expect that to rectify as the sun comes out. Wear some old shoes or boots.
Hope to see you soon!!!

saturday morning 2 - The Farm is looking good! What a difference a rain shower has made. Everything is freshly washed, even the Farmhands look better. All activities are running today. The ground is quickly absorbing any puddles. There is some standing water between some of the Zinnia rows to watch for and our tunnel is currently closed. Other than those two places, its business as usual.
Our forecast calls for rain this afternoon. Currently I don't see any on the radar so I guess the clouds are supposed to build during the day.
The Farm is open rain or shine and everyone seems refreshed by the rain. Hope to see you soon!

saturday morning -2.17 inches of rain last night. I hope everyone faired well through it, we are certainly grateful to have it here on the farm. You can tell it was dry because we would normally see a lot of standing water with 2 inches but I didn't see much in the preliminary drive around.

From what I could see, things look pretty good for todays patrons. The Pumpkins are sure to be clean and I just realized I have a black truck, not a brown one. I don't see any mud but I am sure there is some out there this morning. Wear old shoes or rainboots just in case there are a few spots. I would expect the aisles between the flowers to be the most suspect. I will put up another post in an hour or two after the sun comes up and we can get a good look.

The Farm is open rain or shine so we will be here waiting for you.

10/24/2025

10/24/25 Here we go into the last weekend of October and everything is going great! The Farm is a little weathered from 3 months of drought and above normal Fall temperatures but all in all it looks fantastic. All of the events seem to be running smoothly and our new theatre is a lot of fun. Historically our busy weekends are behind us and from now on out it should be easy going out here - a great time to enjoy the farm without any crowds.

Rain? We do have a good chance of rain tonight. The Forecasts have been all over the place as to how much and when. It has been so dry that I feel the ground will suck up any moisture in a hurry. I will try to post here by 8:45 tomorrow morning concerning field conditions. Regardless the Farm will be open rain or shine.

Strawberry plants: We were able to get the first 160,000 in the ground without too much trouble, the last 45,000 have proven otherwise. Between moving pumpkins and normal Farm chores it has been difficult to find the time. We were able to get 20,000 planted yesterday and today so just 25,000 left to go! With any luck we will have them all in the ground by next weekend. Some of the first plants planted have started to bloom. Maybe by late November we will be able to let folks pick some. It would really be nice to NOT go from summer to winter in a week.

We hope to see you all very soon!
