Our Story
Mesta Meadows is owned by Terri and Ed Crowley. We produce the finest quality wool sheep including Merino, Rambouillet, and Cormo. We also raise Scottish Blackface sheep. Originally our farm was named Kentucky Meadows because we started it in Kentucky. After moving to Missouri the spring of 2020, we needed to pick a new name for our business. In honor of our sheep’s heritage, we picked the name Mesta Meadows. In Spain, the original Merino sheep grazed the Spanish southern plains in winter and the northern highlands in summer. The Mesta was an organisation of privileged sheep owners who developed the breed and controlled the migrations along cañadas reales suitable for grazing. The Mesta full name in Spanish is Honrado Concejo de la Mesta (honourable Council of the Mesta).
Our goal is to raise the finest quality sheep possible using sustainable farming practices. We sell wool (our flock average is 19 micron - very fine grade), registered breeding stock, and lamb meat from our excess rams. Our sheep are currently in Tennessee until we find a new farm in Missouri. We are continuing our breeding program as we transition the farm.

I really enjoy our growing operation. These really are beautiful cattle with the oldest breed registry! And yes, the middle steer is a Belted Galloway, not a highland. Mesta Meadows
