Really excited about our loaner bull, Loki, from Circle AM in Marshfield Mo. Loki is an ACHA registered bull who will be breeding Ozark Highland Cattle CO, LLC's Scottish Highland Cattle at Mesta Meadows. Cant wait to see his offspring! The girls seem pretty excited meeting Loki!

Ever since Ed’s cousin, Cindy went home to Georgia our milk sheep have been a bit antsy on the stand. Cindy sings to them and talks to them while they are being milked. Tonight while we were milking we called Cindy to talk to them and they were so well behaved. Below are pictures of them trying to get as close as possible to the phone.

Wool fibers have an interlocking structure of coiled Keratin molecules that allow wool to bend and stretch in any direction thousands of times and return to their original position before breaking. By comparison Nylon breaks at just 75 bends. Broken fibers are what cause permanent creases, saggy areas, thin, worn spots, and rips that eventually make the garment useless.

We have just added some amazing fleeces to our Etsy store, Cormo, Rambouillet, and a really unique Cormo/Rambouillet/Scottish Blackface cross! This is one of my favorites - Rahab, a beautiful Rambouillet (French Merino) ewe has produced a beautiful fleece with a nice 3.25" staple length, with very good crimp, and a very nice soft white color. This is a beautiful fleece that will spin into a very nice yarn. It will also be a fantastic yarn to dye since the Rambouillet wool accepts color really well. Although a lot of our spinner customers like to spin it in it's original white color! This is an ideal fiber to spin into yarn for a 'next to the skin' garment!

Izzy is always on guard for her flock! Given the fact that we are in the middle of predator country (Coyotes, Bald Eagles, even some bears) these gaurdians are essential to our flocks safety Mesta Meadows.

The Mason Jar Store now has Sheep's Milk Yogurt, Sheep's Milk Parfait (with Granola and fruit), Sheep's Milk Carmel Creamer, and Sheep's Milk Yogurt. And of course all of our Sheep's Milk Cheeses! Sheep's milk, the delicious and healthy alternative to cow or goat's milk.

Many folks who cannot digest cow or goats milk can drink sheep's milk.

We are open on Friday's from 1 to 5, and Saturday's from 9 until 4. We are located one mile west of Glenallen on Hwy 34. Enter 869F8X53+8WJ to find us.

We had a total of 90 3rd grades tour our farm from Sikeston School District. What a great bunch of kids! It was a team effort with some great help from Cheryl Dowd and Breckan Davis. And Delilah helped too by hanging out with the kids the entire day... it wore her out (see the last picture)! They were able to pet sheep, feed the Scottish Highland Cattle cubes, and try sheep milk products. We love hosting tours at the farm...
