Massabequash Foods

Massabequash Foods Massabequash Foods: Local. Simple. Real. Why We Do What We Do: Our passion is enjoying tasty, healthy, “real” food. Why the name Massabequash? Honest.

We are part of the movement that believes everyone has a right to know
what is in their food and where it comes from. Long before the first European settlers
arrived in what was to become known as Marblehead, our town was inhabited by the Native American Naumkeag Tribe. Led by the great Sachem Nanapashmet,
they named their settlement Massabequash. Our condiments reflect the days when what we ate

was locally sourced
and made with simple, fresh and organic ingredients. Did we mention better tasting too? Give us a try and you’ll never go back to those mass-produced brands.

Hello Fellow Foodies! We hope to be up and running at the Swampscott and Marblehead Farmers' Markets this summer.

We also hope everyone is staying safe and cooking a lot of healthy stuff at home.

We made homemade guacamole for Cinco de Mayo with just a few ingredients: ripe avocados, organic garlic, cilantro, lime juice and a dash of cayenne pepper.
Very healthy and yummy dip!
Homemade Taco Seasoning, for Taco Salad, instead of store bought, was easy too with spices we had on hand.

This recipe we tried, called Seared Steaks with Mushroom Sauce, called for 2 T. of balsamic glaze. Looking around the store, all the commercial brands had yukky stuff in them like carmel coloring and HFCS.
So, instead we thought "make it yourself" and found a recipe, with just two ingredients, balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. All you do is boil the mixture and let it reduce a bit. Easy and local, simple, real.
