Women Who Inspire
The women who shaped the women of Village Fresh.
This March, we’re celebrating the women who shape agriculture during Women’s History Month, International Women’s Day, and National Women in Agriculture Day.
Today we’re featuring Jennifer Shelton, Forecast Administrator, who is a critical member of the team at Village Fresh Greenhouse Grown.
When asked about a woman who inspired her career, she shared two stories.
First:
"My mother’s influence isn't found in grand speeches, but in the quiet resilience of her daily life. She is my blueprint for strength, navigating adversity with a grace that never seeks an audience. Her empathy is constant, teaching me that kindness is a choice one makes even when the world is unkind. By balancing sacrifice with unyielding ambition, she showed me that a woman’s heart can be both a sanctuary and a powerhouse. I am not just her daughter; I am the fortunate recipient of her unconditional belief, a legacy that inspires me to lead with courage and be myself”.
Second:
“My daughters and granddaughters are one of my greatest teachers, constantly redefining my understanding of courage and wonder. Though I am meant to guide them, their unfiltered pursuit of joy and their resilience in the face of new challenges inspire me daily. They see the world not as it is, but as it could be, pushing me to be more intentional and present. Their growth is a mirror, reflecting the importance of patience and the beauty of becoming. In their laughter and fierce independence, I find the drive to build a better world—not for myself, but for the women they are and are becoming.”
Women supporting and inspiring one another has always been part of agriculture’s story — and it continues every day across our industry.
