MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!! Farm Tour 2026 is approaching!

Come out on Saturday, October 10th, from 9-2pm (CENTRAL TIME) to get a glimpse of how we care for our cattle & our land!

This tour is free to the public & is a free-flowing tour, so come any time between 9-2pm. Just be sure to stop by between 10:15-11:30am if you’d like to see the cows being milked:)

For those of you who have attended in the past, the tour will be a little different this year to help ease up on labor & our time commitment to prepare…this is also Marianna’s Homecoming weekend and the local Panhandle Youth Expo weekend…so much going on!😳Our farm lane will be open for you to drive yourself all the way back to our dairy barn & we will have all of our booths/learning stations & staff in one place around the big circle drive.

Please remember we are a working farm with mud, dust, bugs & sunshine…so dress/prepare accordingly:) Also, no pets please.

Both our Creamery (12-3pm) & Market (10-3pm) will be open their normal Saturday hours❤️

We hope you can join us!!

A group of our young heifers & steers enjoying the cloudy weather today❤️

I’ve been really bad about posting on our farm page lately:/ Lots going on and I just never think to stop & post pictures of the beauty all around me…I’ll try to be better about it!

We have almost finished our herd downsize (have a few bred heifers left…if you know anyone in need, send them our way) & it’s been such a nice transition for both us & the cows❤️

Dairy farming is a challenging profession. Farmers have lots of odds working against them all the time…weather, markets, diseases, pests, rising input costs, regulations, labor struggles, physical demands, increasing farmer age, etc.
Small farms often have a more disproportionate share of these stressors due to their inability to spread costs as efficiently as larger operations. Dairy farms in this country are vanishing by the thousands each year. From 2004-2024, 63% of the dairy farms in this country have exited the business. Florida is not exempt from this exodus. Many of our fellow Florida dairy producers have closed their barn doors…several of them being close friends…just within the past year or two. Overall dairy cow numbers in the US remain relatively flat, while production continues to increase. Farms are consolidating & large farms are getting larger. From an efficiency perspective, this is a plus, as the larger, more technologically advanced farms can more efficiently produce more milk per cow. From a local social level, this is likely not advantageous, as we are losing farms that are often the backbones of our rural communities.
As a small family farm, we are not immune to these enormous pressures. The past several years have been challenging. We have discussed the fact that if we had not started the Creamery, we would have likely exited the dairy industry 5-7 years ago. Our ability to provide our local community with nourishing & delicious local dairy products has been a refreshing reprieve for us.
As we looked forward and needed to make decisions for our longevity, we realized that we must go against all trends & downsize our already small farm😳
At our high, we have milked as many as 400+ cows. We did this while selling our milk to our farmer-owned milk marketing cooperative. Within the past 2 years we have shrunk our milking herd to around 200 head, still selling most of our milk through the co-op, with a smaller amount of our milk going directly to our Creamery.
At the end of 2025, we made the drastic, & somewhat terrifying decision, to downsize even further & leave our milk marketing cooperative, to only supply milk to our Creamery. We have been (& continue) to shrink our milking herd size to around 40-50 head. Time will tell if this decision was a wise one, but we are currently certain that this is the right direction for our farm.

So, if you would like to support a small, family-owned dairy farm going through a scary transition period, then please stop by the Creamery & Market and indulge in an ice cream treat or grab a bottle (or 2) of milk!
We appreciate your support more than you will ever know❤️❤️

Or if you, or someone you know, are looking for some dairy cows, please let us know!
We have cows at multiple ages & stages of lactation available for sale, plus heifers (both bred & younger aged). Please reach out directly to 850-573-1456 (text is often easier with my hectic schedule).

Spent yesterday morning milking cows while snow fell outside😳 Another January snowfall in Florida!!!
Who would have thought this would happen twice in a row?!?! Our daughter asked me at the beginning of winter if we would have snow again this year and my response was, “No way!”
Well, I stand corrected!
It didn’t stick like last year, but it did snow for a solid hour and a half and had some of the largest snowflakes I’ve ever seen in my life (I realize that’s not saying much since I don’t live where it snows regularly).
It was again absolutely beautiful!! ❄️

Cow #230 says, “HEY! Are you planning to come to our 2026 Farm Tour?!”
This cow😝 She’s a riot!!! She gives us the most ‘looks’ of any critter we’ve EVER owned🤣😂

But, seriously, you need to MARK YOUR CALENDARS for our annual FARM TOUR!!
You can get up close and personal with all our beautiful bovines, plus this diva, at the farm!

It will be happening at Cindale Farms on Saturday, October 11th from 9-2:00pm CST!

SEE YOU THEN!!!🐄🐂🌾

Also, have you ever seen such cow heaven as these pastures?! Our gals are loving our luscious summer pastures. Grateful to have exceptional grazing pastures for these ladies. This perennial summer grass is a native to South America that we actually never planted. We aren’t sure if it came in on a hurricane or with some other grass seed we purchased, but however it got here, we are happy it found us & happy it thrives under our management❤️🌾
