Woke up this morning to find a huge tree had fallen down in our pasture and messed up our fence. I think I heard it fall last night but at the time I just assumed it was a Wendigo and that I should probably just mind my own business. Looks like I'll be on perimiter goat patrol until I get it fixed.

It's always something.
My poor sweet Paimon has an emergency medical situation that will be fatal if I don't take care of it right now. I cannot loose him. Hannah may be my beat friend, but Paimon is my baby. He is the first goat I got. I have had him since he was 8 days old, he slept in my bed when we first brought him home. He follows me around and nibbles on me and demands pets and attention. I love this boy.
He is going to the vet today, but the timing of it finacially is just stupid. So..
I am making a plea for help.

Unregistered mini-Alpine POLLED buckling up for discussion. This is Amos and he is looking for love on a new farm. He was born 8/27/2022 and was a bottle baby. He's easy going, familar with being on a stand for hoof trims and medications. Very sweet and funny boy just not what we need in our herd right now.

Here's some pictures from yesterday evening. We were trying out having Hannah and Electra in the nursery together with their kids. Yeah, there was some strong sides being taken and neither were happy with it. So we'll be checking today how last night went with an "open" nursery concept.

Electra is doing better on the nursing front and Hannah, though she seems attentive, is still weirded out by nursing unless Norm is holding her collar, talking soothingly to her, and allowing her to treat him like a big baby by cleaning his neck and face. Goat licks!

We think her loss of kids last year and us playing surrogate babies has made her misunderstand what's supposed to be happening. Here's hoping she starts understanding soon.

We now have two more baby goats! All the birthing is done and all seems to have gone well. Though Hannah still seems weirded out by her kids trying to feed. Electra is getting it it seems, she's the new mama today. Hannah had her two babies yesterday. So now we have four doelings and two bucks. All the girls are poled. Woohoo! The other buckling is the one with black markings. Sneaky boy!
