Reading this interview reminded us how much of the Schoolhouse story was actually written by the people who kept walking through the door.
When we opened, we thought we had a pretty good idea of what a brewery was supposed to be.
Then you all started showing us what Schoolhouse could actually become.
Trivia nights. Fundraisers. Parties. Homebrewers. Pinball. Events. Friends bringing friends. Local groups looking for a place to gather. People who have been showing up for us for years.
At some point, we stopped thinking of Schoolhouse as strictly a brewery and started thinking of it as a community gathering place with a brewery at its center.
That change didn’t come from some brilliant business plan.
It came from paying attention to the people around us.
VoyageATL recently sat down with Thomas to talk about how Schoolhouse started, what we’ve learned along the way, and where we’re headed next.
