Becky Shiley, your paintings are incredible, especially being surrounded by so many of them in one room. You were so loved by your family and so many friends. I hope we did you proud today.

Today's menu was a fruit and dessert grazing table, which included:

This is such an honor to be chosen out of 51 nominees!!! 51!! This is such a special way to be celebrating our 10 year business anniversary!!

So many of you have been with me from the very beginning. I started out in a shared commercial kitchen in Mount Joy, transporting my take-out meals to be sold on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm at the Carriage House in Maytown by pre-order only. Then in 2019, the business moved to 3rd & Cherry Street in Columbia, where I expanded the take out meals to pre-order and walk-ins, all while still catering. Our biggest catering job in Columbia was 350 guests! Still not sure how we managed to do that in our tiny 500sq ft shop! I was so fortunate to have all the restaurant equipment included in my rent there. The only major purchase while in Columbia was my 2 commercial stoves.

In November 2024, we learned of the old deli in Marietta closing and decided to tackle the 6 month job of remodeling the place down to the studs, down to the floor joists, down to the bare bones. We used our own money to level the floors, install new flooring, new frp walls, a stainless steel floor, wall and ceiling alcove for the stoves and grill, 2 new hoods, new paint, new everything! This was all with the expertise of Donald Copeland Home Improvement who was there every step of the way. We bought all new major appliances, shelving, sinks, everything....in the hopes that this would be my dream commercial kitchen...the permanent home for my catering business. 6 months later, we left Columia and opened in Marietta in May 2025 with our first take out meal and began catering from our new location. It hasn't all been smooth sailing, but we've navigated through it all. And I'm pretty darn proud of how far I've come in 10 years. Lots of obstacles, but even more great accomplishments that I'm so grateful for.

It has been a joy to be part of all of your lives...all of the special celebrations that you call on me for...from weddings and showers, to birthday parties and celebrations of life. I'm always so happy that you keep coming back to Kristen's Katering over and over. Here's to many more years of catered parties and take out meals!! Thank you to everyone that has been a part of all of this.

Catered a drop off breakfast in Wrightsville this morning. Had to dodge a few downed trees from last night's storms, but the view of the river and the smiling faces at the Susquehanna Heritage Center made it all worth it. 💜
