I really slack on keeping track of entry fees and LTEs so I bought this 2027 planner from Red Hot Barrel Horses and I am excited to kick off the new year keeping track of everything with it! 10/10 recommend! Here’s just a couple of the sheets in it, it also has run and vet logs and part of her mental game handbook in it!

This weekend, I had the opportunity to record and talk with several barrel racers for our other business, and it was so cool getting to hear their stories, perspectives, and what matters most to them.

One thing that really stuck with me was the final question I asked three of them “what do you want to be known for?”

All three different people answered that they wanted to be remembered for being kind. And honestly, that spoke volumes to me.

We get so caught up in times, wins, checks, and chasing our dreams that sometimes we forget what really matters. The barrel racing world is competitive enough without making it harder on each other. There is room for all of us to succeed, and someone else’s success doesn’t take away from your own.

Imagine how much better this industry would be if we focused just as much on the kind of people we are as we do on the kind of riders we become.

Be the person who cheers someone on, offers a helping hand, gives a compliment, or makes a newcomer feel welcome. You never know what someone else is going through or how much a little kindness might mean to them.

At the end of the day, nobody will remember every time on the board or every check you cashed. But they will remember how you treated them, how you made them feel, and the kind of person you were.

Not a fan of the days getting shorter but it always makes for some pretty pictures of the ponies with the sunset🌅

This sweet girl has had quite the “glow up” since she has been with us! I love seeing the difference I can make in a couple months on horses that come in!🤩

She’s my 2027 futurity horse but she’s has a lot of time off with me not being able to ride, so I’m hoping by January or February we’re making some runs finally🤣

Grain wise she is only on 1/2 sc of alfalfa pellets am/pm and 2 lbs of purina ultium competition am/pm!

He’s a little behind where I wanted him to be with me getting hurt, but we’re full speed ahead to catch up once we get to Texas!

My training spots for my time in Texas are quickly filling up!🤠 If you have been on the fence about booking your horse, now is the time!!

Quick info:
•November to April/may (they do not have to stay the whole time)
•Ability to haul out to a race everyday of the week within an hour of the barn
•Open track to breeze horses at the barn
•Daily turnout in small groups
•5-6 rides a week
•Weekly video updates
•You don’t pay to haul them down or back as long as they make the trip when I go

Consistency is KEY to getting your horses ready to hit the road this summer! If you are worried about them being off over the cold and snowy winter send them down with me!❄️🔑
