I have an update. Unfortunately, it's not a good one :( I moved my flock from the old enclosure to a new one I'd bought, hoping it would give them a more natural enclosure so they're able to get more sun and air....I'd hoped it would make them happy. Although they are used for their meat and eggs...it's important to me that they lived a life that was happy and as natural as possible. Last week I went out to feed and water them. Only to find they had somehow gotten one of the doors open :( so I lost my entire flock. I wasn't able to find a single one :( Very heartbreaking considering I put so much time and love into the birds to have to start from square one. I am definitely not going to lay down and give up on them. So, for now, I'm going to begin again. Wish me luck! I'll keep everyone updated. I'm still debating whether I'll reinforce the enclosure or to use the old enclosure that was always more secure. We shall see but I'll make sure to keep you guys updated on the process. It's definitely been a learning experience qnd I'll go forward with more experience and ideas. Fingers crossed!
