We do not have pumpkins this year. The lack of rain left us with no crop 😔 Not a single one. We thank you for the support and hope that mother nature is more cooperative next year!

Thought I would share my 2024 preserving with help from the 2 oldest girls ❤💜

Dehydrated:
Mushrooms
Onion (for onion powder)
Carrots

Tomato (for tomato powder)

Oregano

Canned:
Mushrooms
Turkey & Chicken bone broth
Baked beans (need a new recipe 😬)
Violet jelly (that was more like syrup - trial & error!)

Busy weekend! Dehydrated two bunches of celery, started cranberry juice (still in the resting phase), and rendered down pork & beef fat into lard & tallow... 13 pints worth! This is my first time rendering and it wasn't too difficult, just a little messy at times. Will finish canning the cranberry juice this week. This is my first attempt, so we shall see 🤔

🧄 Garlic was planted! Around 250 cloves planted and hoping for good results! This is our 4th year planting garlic and we were still ironing out the kinks, but we think that we have it down now.

🍑 However, my peach tree (that was loaded with peaches) was taking forever to ripen. Checked it last weekend and they still weren't ready. Well the racoons thought they were! This weekend, not a single peach left, but a flood of pits under the tree 😔 Super discouraging.

🌱 If anyone is looking for garden starts of Thyme, I found several while clearing out the veggie garden. Just let me know if you're interested!

We only have a small selection of 50c pumpkins and 25c gourds left. Having a small crop this year was quite discouraging, but your faithful support has made us feel a bit better about a less-than- ideal situation 🎃
