Just added fresh picked sweet corn, green peppers, mild banana peppers, and cucumbers to the produce stand! We also have zucchini, farm fresh free range eggs, honey and Hartzlers Dairy butter and cheese.

We are picking corn this week but it's getting close to the end of the patch. We have cucumbers and zucchini too 😋 stop by and get some for dinner!

The farm stand will be full this weekend! Ambrosia bi color sweet corn, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers and garlic 💛 It's open all day on the honor system. We also have Hartzler dairy products and eggs inside Adrenaline Arms in the cooler.

Have you ever made your own bone broth?

We use this technique to have plenty to cook down in our bone broth. It's a great tip to use to use every bit of the vegetable that you can 💚

I'd like you to meet my "Ugly Broth Bag".

I know, there’s just no way to pretty this thing up for the internet. But like so many things, this beat-up plastic bag is much more than the sum of its parts.

And what are those parts?

Onion skins
The tiny ends of garlic cloves
Celery bottoms and tops
Carrot peels
Mushrooms stems
Wilted scallion tops
The sliced off tops of tomatoes
The bones from the chicken thighs we had for dinner last week
The rind from that block of parmesan I finished last month

You get the idea – kitchen scraps.

You see, every month, this little bag gets full to bursting, which is when I grab it from the freezer and dump it into a stockpot with some cold water, salt and herbs. About an hour later, I have the most delicious, homemade golden stock or bone broth.

Only without all of the chopping or making a special trip to pick up ingredients.

My humble bag of kitchen scraps has kept me in healthy, homemade broth for ages.
