Tonight I had the privilege of getting to be one of the speakers at Ag Awareness night!

First, it was so awesome getting to see so many FFA kids coming together from different chapters to learn even more about ag! As you know I love ag education so it was great to see!

Second, I am so grateful to be someone that they thought to ask to speak.

Over the last couple years I have been getting asked more and more to speak, be interviewed or host ag educational programs at the farm. I've had farms from different states ask tips about mums, pumpkins and agtourism. It still catches me off guard because I don't feel important enough to really even be noticed. It is just so meaningful to me in so many ways.

I struggle with seeing myself as someone "important" enough to listen to. I dont have a ag degree and wasnt raised around it besides my horses l. I still see myself as just a stay at home mom who doesn't use the degree she worked so hard to get. Not that being a stay at home mom is nothing, it's a full time gig. So many times though you'll hear comments "well you just stay at home. You have plenty of time to do whatever you want. "or "it must be nice to do whatever you want whatever you want." οΏΌ

Those sort of comments get stuck in your head and you start seeing yourself as just a stay at home mom. I absolutely love my job as a mom as a homemaker as a wife, it's my favorite job but The Patch has given me so much purpose that I didn't know I needed.

My love for ag is forever growing. Day by day year by year.

I've always had a heart for ag but Adam has really helped me find something I never knew I could love so much.

Getting to a point where people see that I am deserving of their time to listen to and maybe learn from is so spectacular to me. I cannot explain how much it means. I have found a passion through ag.

So much of this growth is because I love our customers so much and I want to grow and give them more and more each year.

The Patch has helped me grow as a person in so many ways. My goal is that it helps someone find a love for ag and or a desire to be part of an ag community.

We need ag to continue for all the generations to come.

I hope that The Patch can be part of the solution to better educate all ages in the importance of ag!

I know I am forever grateful for it!

Thank you to each and everyone of you who has been part of The Patch. I'm so grateful for how far we have come.

πŸ›‘ Stop! Please read or listen! And share!πŸ›‘

Hey everyone! Unpopular opinion here and or a friendly reminder lol it is still pretty early to start buying your plants especially your ferns and your tropical plants!

We are in southern Illinois. Today is beautiful tomorrow might not be. We still have strong winds rain, storms, cold nights, all of the things!

Tropical plants do not like those things, they do not like wind on them, especially cold wind,it tares them up!

We want to protect our plants. If you plan on purchasing your plants now please bring them in every night up until middle end of April.

Try to be patient and stay strong and wait.

There is a reason why we plan Fern day middle end of April. (April 18th) We do not want you to have to buy your plants multiple times. that is not fun for you nor is it fair for you!

It's not fair to be tempted to buy all these beautiful plants right now and then turn around and have to buy them all over again. I don't want that for you!

So spread the word. Tell all your friends to hold off and wait! It is still pretty early to be buying ferns and tropical plants. THEY do not like this weather, there is a reason why they are grown in very warm greenhouses and or in the very southern tips of the US. They simply like warm weather only!
