Today we mourn the loss of an American icon, a beloved philanthropist and a proud 4-H alumna, Dolly Parton. Her extraordinary life was defined not only by her incredible talent, but by her unwavering generosity, compassion and commitment to helping others.

For generations of young people, Dolly embodied what it means to use your gifts in service of others. From her roots in 4-H to her lifelong investment in literacy, education and community, she showed us that true leadership is grounded in humility, kindness, and purpose. As Dolly once said, "storms make trees take deeper roots." 💚

A proud 4-H alumna, she reminded us that challenges can strengthen us and help us grow. That wisdom will continue to inspire young people and communities for generations to come. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and the millions whose lives she touched. Her legacy of hope, generosity, and service will live on. 🍀

Meet Hanna Krahmer one of our showmanship instructors at the OMGP Youth meet goat clinic June 19 Albany Oregon

Hanna is a key part of a 25-head meat goat production herd, where she is responsible for daily care, breeding decisions, and overall herd management. She has been involved in the meat goat industry her entire life and has actively shown goats since the age of seven.
In addition to hands-on production experience, she competed on the Linn-Benton Community College livestock judging team, strengthening her evaluation skills and understanding of industry standards. She is currently active on the jackpot circuit, exhibiting meat goats and sheep across the Pacific Northwest. Passionate about youth development in agriculture and livestock, she also coaches youth exhibitors showing goats and sheep throughout Oregon.

Meet Katie Hanson one of our instructors at the OMGP Youth Meat goat clinic June 19 Linn County

Katie Hanson grew up in Woodburn, Oregon, on her family’s century farm, where they raise nationally competitive purebred Hampshires and Southdowns. She is currently a senior nursing student at OHSU.
Katie grew up showing breeding sheep across the United States and exhibited market lambs and goats throughout her years in 4-H and FFA. She has found success at every level, including winning showmanship at the All American Junior Show four years in a row, along with numerous showmanship titles at the state and county levels.
Passionate about giving back, Katie enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. She has helped local youth with their sheep and goat projects, instructed 4-H clinics, and has served as a camp instructor for Champions Choice Camps for the past eight years.

Dana Childers along with her husband Bruce operate Childers Show Goats. They raise highly competitive registered and jackpot style show goats in Medford Oregon. Dana has been involved in showing livestock since the age of 9. She believes highly in the 4-H/FFA program and has been a leader and or Superintendent for many years. She teaches various clinics including, fitting, showmanship, animal husbandry and artificial insemination. She feels there is immense value in kids showing livestock and enjoys coaching kids to help them reach their goals. Don't miss this opportunity to learn tools to elevate your showmanship and fitting goals.
