What’s up with the names this year?!

You might be looking at our calves this year and scratching your head trying to figure out why we named them what we did. I mean painted smile, grated coconut, and blueberry wine don’t really roll off the tongue 😂❤️.

This year, we decided to live a little on the wild side when it came to naming our calves.

We chose to name them after world-renowned and National Finals Rodeo livestock from over the years. Some of these names we’ve remembered, and others we’ve come across while digging deeper into the history… and there are some pretty incredible stories behind them.

We’re excited to share those names with you, along with a little piece of each animal’s history, as we introduce every new baby this season.

It’s our way of paying homage to the livestock industry and bringing a bit of those roots to you through each sweet calf.

Today, while the grills are hot and families gather together, we pause to remember what Memorial Day is truly about.

As a military family, we know firsthand that freedom comes at a cost. Today we honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so the rest of us could enjoy moments like these.

So as you celebrate today, raise a glass in memory of those who can’t. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Meet Grated Coconut! Or simply “Coconut” 🥥🥰

Coconut is a Yellow belted Galloway × Highland heifer with the most incredible hair, petite build, and a sweet, curious personality that makes everyone love her instantly.

She may not have the classic beltie markings, but she absolutely carries the head, hair, and conformation you’d expect from a beautiful belted Galloway type female.

Coconut is:

✨ Naturally polled
✨ Chondro positive
✨ Double wild type

Her temperament is truly exceptional, just like her mama, Nellie, who was a Grand Champion mini breeding heifer.

Coconut is so sweet, friendly, and always the first to come say hello. 🤎🤎

There’s just something special about the love between a girl and her cow 🤎🐮

Sweet Tessa, one of last year’s calf crop, is out here doing exactly what we knew she would: bringing joy, building confidence, and helping teach others about mini Highlands.

Her family has been showing her and will be taking her to the fair this year so other kids can learn all about these amazing animals, and we couldn’t be more proud!

Watching these connections grow is the best part of what we do. When you bring home one of our minis, you’re not “just a customer” to us , you become part of our mini family.

We love building lifelong relationships with our families, being there to support you through the questions and challenges, and celebrating every milestone right alongside you and your animals.

UPDATE: Maple has officially found her new forever home right here in Montana and will be headed there in October 🫶🏼🫶🏼 this girl is gonna have the best family.

Meet Maple Leaf! 🍁🍁

Or as we like to call her, just “Maple” 🍁❤️.

Despite first glance, this sweet girl is anything but mini Hereford! Maple is sired by a high-percentage Highland bull with a touch of White Park, giving her that striking bald face and extra eye appeal.

She’s got the build, color, and genetics to make a strong addition for anyone focused on quality cattle. Paired with a Highland bull down the road, she has the potential to produce colorful calves with high Highland influence. 🐄

Maple is growing into a beautiful young heifer with a calm look and lots of potential ahead. Message our ranch to learn more about this sweet girl. 💌💌💌
