A Quick Note About Wildlife Calls

I want to take a moment to gently clear something up, because I’ve had quite a few calls and messages about this lately - especially about baby rabbits.

While I truly appreciate that people care enough to reach out and try to help these animals, I am not a wildlife rehabilitator and I am not licensed to take in wild animals. Because of that, I cannot pick up, care for, or raise wild rabbits or other wildlife.

There are a few important reasons for this:

• Wild animals require specialized care, training, and permits.
• Veterinary care for wildlife can be extensive and costly.
• My time and resources are already fully dedicated to caring for my farm and animals, in addition to working multiple jobs to make ends meet.
• Most importantly, bringing wild animals onto a property with domestic livestock is not safe for them or for my animals.

Our wildlife habitat here is designed to support pollinators like bees, butterflies, and wild birds, not to house or rehabilitate wild mammals.

Also, something many people don’t realize - mother rabbits often leave their babies alone for long periods during the day, and that does not mean they’ve been abandoned. In many cases, the best thing you can do is leave them undisturbed.

If you truly believe an animal is injured or orphaned, the best course of action is to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in your area, who has the proper training and legal ability to help.

Thank you so much for understanding - and for caring about the animals. I just want to make sure they get the right kind of help when they need it.
