I increased my flock by 50 chickens a week and a half ago. However, they are a little more "free spirited" than my other girls. Only a few of them actually lay in the nesting boxes in the chicken tractor. The rest lay in random places in the weeds and grass. It's like a game of hide and seek you didn't want to play every day!
So I'm going to attempt a compromise and put this makeshift nest box (from a plastic tote) in a more remote area and see if they like it better. Wish me luck.

Beyond disappointed! This row of green beans was absolutely beautiful last week, full of blooms and even some little baby green beans. Then we got a total of 6 1/2 + inches of rain over Thursday and Friday nights.
These pictures are from Sunday, they are completely brown today. All I can do is pull them up and start again.

This a great idea! I'll be INSIDE the Senior Center tomorrow.

Weather is looking rainy….what does that mean for market? The show must go on!!! Our vendors have worked hard, growing, baking, and preparing and would appreciate your support at market. Several of our vendor that make items that could be ruined by the rain will be INSIDE the Marion Senior Citizens Center on Saturday morning!
