🐓Loca🐓

Breed: Mix between a Rhode Island Red &

Role at BS Farms: Stunt Double / Chaos Coordinator

Backstory:
Loca is the first chick ever hatched at BS Farms, and she made sure her entrance was worth the wait. After weeks of anticipation, she arrived with zero fear and maximum attitude. From day one, Loca decided gravity was optional. She launches herself on and off anything in the coop. Anything from perches, feeders, to questionable heights without hesitation or regret.
Despite her size, she runs with the big chickens like she owns the place, absolutely convinced she’s invincible.

Special Skills:
Fearless jumping, ignoring personal safety, and keeping everyone on edge.

Known For:
Having absolutely no self-preservation instincts and unmatched confidence.

Fun Facts:
Will attempt jumps clearly meant for birds twice her size… and try again immediately if she fails.

Motto:
“Why walk when you can leap?”

We have had some Broody Hens lately so we decided to let them sit on eggs. 5 eggs total to be exact. We have no clue who laid what and there is a good chance the chicks actual mama is not who was sitting on this babies egg. Fun Fact: Since our flock is a close family they can rotate sitting on each other’s egg to make them hatch. Downfall to that is that when OUR hens are sitting on eggs, OUR egg production slows down drastically across the flock. This doesn’t happen with every flock but our flock went from laying 12 eggs a day to laying anywhere from 0 to 3 eggs a day. Out of the 5 eggs we have had 1 hatch, 1 passed away, 1 that didn’t end up developing, and 2 still waiting patiently inside their egg for their time to shine.

We hope to get back into selling our eggs more frequently to you guys. If you need eggs never hesitate to message us, we just haven’t been posting them since we haven’t had a lot to sale.

Sorry for not posting as much! Egg Production has been a little slower than normal over the last month. (Stay tuned to see why) We are hoping to get the Farm Stand up and running again tomorrow.
