The Brown Homestead is an ongoing project that was founded in August of 2012, though conceptualized for at least a decade before. It currently resides on Agua Fria in Mariposa County, California. Our family seeks to create a self-sufficient existence, abounding with liberty and resulting in those pursuits which most successfully fulfill happiness. With our 7 children, we currently maintain meat an

d dairy goats, laying hens, show chickens, and broiler chickens, meat turkeys, multiple feline, ~.1 acre of gardens, various trees, ~.2 acres of the seasonal Agua Fria drainage off of Mount Bullion and out of Carson Creek, and ~.5 acre of thick Oak/Manzanita/Poison Oak forest.
